Very Secure, Easy to Use
This gate was very easy to set up and has been working great. Other reviews made me wonder about the locking mechanism, but itâs very easy to use and is very secure. It technically only âlocksâ on the top, however there are pegs you can lower on both sides of the bottom of the gate to secure it better. You can put down just one peg and the door will open only one way (either side depending on which peg you put down), you can put both pegs down when the gate is closed and it will secure and stay closed, or you can lift both and the gate will be able to swing open in either direction.Our 7mo old likes to stand and hold onto the gate, rocking back and forth on it, and Iâm not worried at all about it opening or coming loose. Itâs also a nice height where we can step over it if we need to (but maybe not if you were shorter).
Easy install trick
I purchased this gate for a 72″ opening. It fits well and was easy to adjust. I’ve noticed that several reviews indicate that installation was difficult due to the gate getting in the way. You can unscrew the knobs at the top of the gate and pull it out of the brackets until install is complete. This makes it very simple and the bars are nowhere near you while mounting the brackets.The walkthrough door is simple to operate, and has a lock so that my baby won’t figure it out anytime soon. My dog is very thankful that her water bowl is no longer being dumped every time I turn my back.Update: I’ve had this gate a little over a year now, and my son recently learned how to open it, so we now tie a piece of fabric around the handle to stop him. One of the top brackets cracked due to attempting to adjust the gate while it was too tight, but that was easily remedied with a couple of zip ties. Overall the gate has functioned well and held up beautifully in a house with 3 growing boys and a big dog.
A little flimsy, but works ok for our purposes
It goes nice and wide which is great, we use it to jeep our dogs on one side of our house/out of the kitchen. But it feels a touch flimsy so I might not be too keen to use it for children or even dogs who like to climb of things. I also wish the door portion of the gate were a touch wider.
Worth the price and perfect for our space.
Perfect gate for our space. We have an awkward staircase and regular gates donât work with our stairs, baseboards or wire railing. This could have gone around the stairs perfectly for what we ordered it for but we decided to maximize usage and place before both our up and down stairs instead. Installation was so easy, I didnât even look at the instructions. Perfect for walls with baseboards!Only negative is because of the length of the gate it slides easily when the baby wants to shake it. Iâm going to stick it to the floor with 3M command strips though so it wonât easily slide. If you place on hardwood it can damage your floors moving.

Awesome! I use it for my dogs and itâs great! No assembly required which was nice! ! Other than if you want to attach it to your wall. Good quality. Sturdy.

Not safe
I bought this gate 3 years ago, and it was perfect. Unfortunately i broke it.So i ordered another but i got the newer model. Im sorry to say but its NOT SAFE. My 18 month old is able to open it because its a one step to open with a simple button.Unfortunately i need a wide gate like this one to fit where i need it, but i really DO NOT LIKE the newer model.
The perfect gate for weird sized spaces.
Moved into our new place and there was a room I needed blocked off for my kids. The doorway to it was larger than standard ones and my previous gate didnât fit. I loved that this had a gate to walk through and could be configured so it was long enough to fit straight across. Lots of gates were just hay of being able to fit but I had zero issues with this one. I was able to install it myself in a short period of time. I have two kids who are constantly going through it or shaking it and it has held up amazing and hasnât ripped out of the wall despite not using anchors!

Our first gate came with part of it snapped but the merchant sent us a new one. We have gotten it installed and absolutely love it! Such a great price point for such a large baby gate. It does its job and gates off stairs so baby canât get to them. Itâs mounted into the wall and seems very sturdy. We have a lively toddler who hangs all over and it is holding up great. The lock feature slides over and is manual. I wish I would have seen that because I was expecting it to be able to be swung shut and automatically click the lock. But thatâs okay! It doesnât take but a second to slide the lock over.
Bought for containing a puppy not a baby – brilliant product and could not have survived without it. Would buy again but hopefully I won’t need to!
very happy with the product
This worked out perfectly for our front entry. Two small Yokies love to run to the front door every time we open it. This will help keep them inside and safe. I was fortunate that the gate sections matched pretty close to the borderline of our tile entry. See photo and video.My only complaint is that the installation is rather permanent. The only way to remove it would be to unscrew the wall brackets. Not a big deal, but I had an older gate that could easily be lifted away from the wall brackets. I may try to figure out a different method to attach the gate to the wall so it can be removed and reattached without any tools. Then again I may just say âun-screw it!â One nice feature is that the door can open in or out. There are small tabs on the bottom of the gate that can be set so the gate opens only one direction, or it can swing both directions. Nice gate, fairly flexible design and is pretty sturdy. The latch on the gate is fine for our needs, but a toddler might be able to open it without too much difficulty. Just push down lightly on the button and slide the latch.
