Work Great as a Barrier for Pets or Safety Gate for Children
We’ve been using this gate for 6 months now and we’re very happy with it.The gate is well made and easy to install. The opening between our walls was 36.5 inches. I purchased some pressure gate wall protectors Cunina Pressure Gate Wall Protector Guard Protect Door Stair Wall Surface When Mount Baby Gates Also for Shower Curtain with Tension-Mounted Rods, 2-Pack (black) which I would highly recommend if you are using this as a pressure gate and not mounting it to the wall.This gate is sturdy and provides a good barrier for our pets and grandchildren. The locking latch has two settings, if you just close the latch but not all the way down the latch prevents the gate from opening but the locking mechanism does not engage making it easier to open and close when your hands are full. This setting can be good for pet containment. When we need more security and for toddlers we press the gate latch all the way down and it LOCKS the gate. When the gate is LOCKED you need to press a release button while lifting the gate latch to unlock and open it. This can be done with ONE HAND although it can be a bit tricky.Overall we’re very happy with the build quality, easy installation and performance of this Regalo gate both as a barrier for our pets and as a safety gate for our grandchildren.Highly Recommend – Would Buy Again
Great deal / Good for cats, small pets and kiddos
Good quality / price. High enough to prevent the cats from disturbing the kids at night lol! Easy to setup, read the instructions. Be aware, this is not a heavy duty gate. My 80lbs German Sheppard would destroy it at the 2nd attempt. Perhaps when all setup, the door opens easily even for 5-8 yo kids. There is a “pin” at the bottom that we uses at night, it “tightens” the door so the cats can’t mess around. Overall very good products for cats / small pets, as the door covers tightly the ground, nothing can’t go under. I used the 4 screws and supports that I screwed into the walls to make it more solid, but you can install it only with pressure.
Keeps baby safe!
The gate is well made and keeps our baby off the stairs and safe. It was very easy to install and is very sturdy. The only thing I wish is that the gate swung both ways. But, they way it is designed it doesn’t allow for that and it makes sense. Would recommend.
Best gate for tall kids
This is my second time purchasing this gate! Love love this gate, it’s been a lifesaver to use in my house. It’s easy enough to open for the older kids(5yr old) unlike the pinching latches on others. It’s really tall if you have tall kids. My son is 3 in the 99+ percentile and has autism and this gate has held up!! Im impressed for sure
Pet deterant … for a while
I use this barrier to deter my cats from going upstairs because I don’t want any potential poop on my carpet. It did a OK job although I had to use the extension for two kits on one in order to fit the doorway. At the time of writing, Amazon is not selling a compatible extension kit for this model so you should consider another wider but shorter model. This kit is basically pressure mounted to doorways. While it had served well to deter my cats for 6 months as they have not yet attempted to jump over, one figured out recently that if she were to push the barrier so that one top side of the screw moved enough of distance, the gate would swing open. I was a bit shocked to find out about that. So basically I need to find a better barrier.
Easy to install, tall enough to prevent cats from coming in!
I have a cat who I would like to keep out a room but I want to be able to leave the door open at the same time so that it doesn’t get too stuffy in there. I installed this gate (which wasn’t too difficult to do, although the package did initially look daunting), draped curtains over the top (as per the picture) and it worked perfectly! The latch mechanism is easy to operate as well.Note that if you’re using this in front of bedrooms doors, it could potentially prevent you from closing the door completely because of the protruding door knob, which likely stands lower than the top of the gates. I have found that at least for my bedroom doorway, I could install it on the edge of the door frames such that the door CAN barely close shut completely.. it does look a little off that way though, and has higher chance of being knocked down. (If you only pressure mount it, a decent amount of force *can* dislodge it.) But since I got it to leave the doors open in the first place, it’s not a big deal… and I can just uninstall it easily when it’s winter and I want the bedroom door closed. Overall, great product – I’m tad sad I bought it when it was like $80… it seems to be on sale right now for $59.99. :/

I purchased this a few years ago & absolutely love these gates! I have 2! They are great for keeping babies & toddles out of the kitchen & other spaces that are unsafe.We loved them so much, our in-laws purchased one for their home for when the babies visit!100% recommend, easy to install & easy to use. + the Safety clasp to prevent children from opening is a key feature we were looking for our home.
Outsmarted by a 3 year old.
Unfortunately the gate’s locking mechanism was figured out and opened within 30 seconds after being installed. Never having seen an adult work the mechanism or anything. Created a larger problem than the one we purchased this gate to replace, so switching back until we have a different option.Gate itself was missing one of the assembly screws, but due to how narrow the gate itself is, the pressure from install was able to make that screw obsolete anyways. Even when it was locked and fully tensioned within the doorframe the gate itself had a very large amount of “wiggle” and would be shaken by toddlers, which makes a ton of noise and honestly makes me unsure of how well the gate is constructed and how long it would be able to stand up to general wear and tear.

Stair gate to keep puppy in downstairs area. Ordered a high one as she can jump. Does the job and loos very smart. Including an extension side for no extra cost. Jump this one puppy! No chance. Thanks
We bought two of these as pet gates, and although our nimble calico can jump to the top and drop on the other side, that’s no fault of the manufacturer. :)These are constructed of welded square steel tubing, and as an engineer I’m very happy with the quality of the welds, the type of finish (a hard, durable gloss paint that is easy to clean and scratch-resistant), and the overall design.They’re easy to assemble, requiring no tools for a pressure-fit installation and only a screwdriver (and maybe a cordless drill) for semi-permanent mounting.I have a couple of very small negative remarks, but these are insignificant enough (for us, at least) that I am still giving five stars.1. At the bottom of the moving gate section, there is a dropdown plastic tab to provide extra resistance at the bottom in case a toddler or a larger pet tried to bend the bottom aside to squeeze through. This is no doubt a safety feature, but we occasionally have a problem with that tab dropping down when not intended, so one has to flip it back up to open the gate. I may simply remove that tab since we don’t need it for the cats.2. The 4″ extensions work well (one comes with each package), but if the opening is just a little narrower than an extension will fit, the situation will be that the threaded pads extend far enough to leave a cat-sized gap along the side. I’ve worked around this by using a [nominal] 2×2 board pressure-fit between one side of the gate and the door frame. It works fine, but I would be thrilled if the manufacturer offered a 2″ extension for those in-between situations. Longer term, I am going to try shortening one of our extensions by trimming the tip of the horizontal tubing and moving the plastic insert to the new end. (Obviously that will void the warranty, so if you try this, you do so at your own risk.)I’m still giving the product five stars because these are small issues that don’t detract from the quality, and since the product does everything it’s advertised to do. In an era of corners being cut and cut and cut in consumer products, as an engineer I’m always happy to find something that’s built to last. This gate is definitely built to last.Despite the minor issue with the extra safety tab at the bottom, the locking mechanism at the top is very convenient to use and yet secure against accidental unlocking. Since we’re using the gate for pets and not children, we’re able to treat the hold-down clip as optional; for pet-gate use the locking feature will stay secure with the lever down but not clipped. I don’t recommend this for use with human children, of course. Our cats are clever but don’t have opposable thumbs.I wish the company made a taller version, because we do need at least one that the calico can’t hop over, but the product as designed and as specified does everything it claims and is a good value.
Easy to install and use
This works extremely well for the price and fit into where we needed it to with no worries. Took less than 10 minutes to set up and more than holds up to our son. Well worth getting
