The net is of good quality and looks neat. It enhances the look of balcony. I had ordered 1 initially and then reordered 2 more .
Ordered two to accommodate our banister upstairs, it runs the length of the hallway overlooking the family room/great room. Very sturdy material with pre-punched holes along the stitched border. You get two different lengthed zip ties I assume for different sized banisters which makes sense but I did not really pay attention to them and used both. One thing is they are a little fragile and not as thick/strong as a standard zip tie you’d find at a box store. That being said it holds the screen tight and works well, be sure you have a flathead screwdrive handy as you will adjust the ties as you set this up initially and trying to re-open the ties caused a few small cuts under my fingernail “ouch”.I did not use all the openings along the bottom as they did not lineup perfectly with my poles but that is to be expected, and where the second net started I did a pretty good overlap of about 6-8″. All in all the tan blends in really well with the banister and it is hardly noticeable from downstairs looking up. upstairs it definitely will protect our kids from sticking their hands/feet/toys through the openings and prevent climbing. Satisfied and looking forward to this being part of the home for a few years as the kids grow up.
This netting is a bit pricier than others but well worth it. Well made, good coloring. The re-useable zip ties are a huge plus. It is great for a space that is one consistent height but don’t try to use it along a staircase. Along the diagonal of a staircase, it folds, bunches and hangs poorly. Very unhappy that the Amazon page doesn’t mention this limitation. I spent over 10 hours trying to make it work but the tension top-bottom and angles just won’t work on the up-down along the stairs.
When we bought our new house with a second story, we knew we had to make sure the kids were safe. We installed these nets upstairs upstairs. They have stood the test of time and have now lasted through our two older kids and are still working with our 15 month old. Easy to install, but takes some time. Well worth the investment.
I like that this matched our banister more than the white or black ones I saw. It would have worked better if my banister wasnât down the stairs. I could have bought the shorter option but it wouldnât have covered my area of concern so I overshot the measurements, bought the 10ft one and wrapped it around the corner instead. The zip ties are easy to move before you cut them (hadnât cut them yet in the photos). I suggest you do your best to put the zip tie clasp at the back of the railing if possible (I couldnât access that side of the railing). Because when you cut the zip tie, it leaves a sharp plastic edge that could easy scratch or scrape a little hands or toes. I went back and tried to shift the ties to back side, but left most because it was just easier. Then once it was in place I clipped extra length from the ties and went back with a hot glue gun and just made a little rubber ball on the ends of the sharp zip ties. Which works well and is discrete to the eye. The mesh didnât line up and wrap around the downward banister (I didnât expect it to), so I just rolled it into itself and tied it off as neatly as possible. The purpose is to deter my kids from playing with the posts at the top landing, Iâm not worried about the stair portion as they are gated off. Overall for the price it does work really well. The adhesive zip tie anchors work really great too and are super convenient for areas next to the last banister post. I would purchase again!
