Wildy Inaccurate
10 readings will give 10 different temperatures, with most of them being several degrees low. Save your money.
Doesn’t work well
Gives different readings, sometimes gives totally normal readings while our old under arm thermometer and touching the child shows he has a fever, for kids this is completely unreliable. We went to a local pharmacy and bought another thermometer that you touch to the forehead and it works great.
Totally inaccurate
Our thermometer of this exact model number 0049501B purchased late summer 2018 when our granddaughter had been diagnosed with pneumonia seemed to perform ok. Two months later when she exhibited a slight fever with an ear infection would give us a reading of 34.5 – the adults tested also had a similar reading. when normal body temp is 36.8 this is totally unacceptable especially when dealing with a 21 month old . End of conversation. Very disappointed with this product. Dangerous product to have available on the market.
shows random numbers
Complete waste of money. Gives a different number every time you use it, different in different ears etc
Five Stars

Omg complete Junk. It told me my daughter was 35.2 and on our new Braun one she is 39.2. Also this is NOT hospital thermometer, they use Braun.
Terrible product. Always inconsistent
Terrible product. Always inconsistent. Got terrified when child was only 34 degrees. Then took my own: I feel perfectly fine but according to this thing I’m only 32 degrees! crap.
Just junk
Horrible. Each time I would use this on baby it would read 94. Every time. And I could tell my baby had a fever but that’s all it would read. Tried it on myself and again 94… I’ve used 3 of this exact thermometer hoping that maybe the one I had was defective but no it’s the junky product. Spend the few dollars more and get a much better quality thermometer.
I chose this thermometer for my 10-month old son. I never liked using a rectal thermometer for a number of reasons, and I figured if they use the ear therm in doctors’ offices it has to be a good option. The name of the game seems to be getting the probe all the way in the ear canal, which for babies means pulling the outer ear back so that the middle ear (ear canal) is accessible. This can be a little tricky with one parent holding a squirmy baby, pulling on the ear, getting the therm in and then pressing the button to take the temp.I also generally take the temp twice to be sure I have an accurate reading. If it’s way too low (in the 96-98 range) I know it’s probably not positioned correctly, esp if I think he has a fever. The therm reads fast and I love that it doesn’t need a probe cover, you can just wipe it with alcohol to clean it.Overall, a good option and so much nicer than the other option!
Very good price and quality product very happy with purchase thank you very much excellent material for easy grip and handlingexcellent product
This thing is quick (~1 second) but wildly inaccurate. The instructions note how you’re supposed to place it *just* right in the ear canal, by holding/pulling your ear back just so and inserting this into the ear canal so there is a good seal.Even if this is done I’ve gotten wildly different temperatures, even on my own ear multiple times using the same method of placement. I took my wife’s temperature (when we got this, to test it out) and according to this she had a fever of 101.3, 102.3, and 102-something in 3 different readings. We went to a corner drug store and got a digital thermometer (placed in the mount, takes about 1 minute to work) and it read 97.6.We got this to use for a newborn but with the wildly different readings and no confidence that any of them are nearly close to being accurate, what’s the point?I’ll give it props for being 1. safe and 2. really quick! But it’s about as useful as a random number generator. Wish it weren’t, it would be a lot easier to use than something that takes 30-60 seconds to get a reading.
After purchasing this item I learned that it is difficult to get an accurate reading on infants (under 12 months) using these thermometers. It’s definitely true with this one. I’ve never had a reading above 96 for my 5 month old son.
Luego de varios años, ya no es tan confiable. No sé que pasó.
