My baby isn’t born yet, but this mattress fits snugly in our Ikea Crib, Free shipping is shocking as its quite a big box (the size of the matress) Seems firm, supportive, but soft enough to be comfortable. THe smell when removed from the bag was barely noticeable – a lot of foam mattresses smell for WEEKS afterwards, and quite badly – this one seems great!

Great, sturdy, firm, $50, perfect for my 3 month old so far. Glad there was no smells to the mattress. We bought the same brand, but 2-in-1 baby/toddler mattress a couple years ago for our other child and paid $80 at Costco. It seemed necessary to eventually switch to the toddler side/softer side when my 1st child stopped sleeping through the night and that seemed to help immediately. I won’t have that option with this mattress so we’ll have to find another solution if necessary.Shipping was timely. Arrived on a Friday, crib came on the Monday.

This crib matress is okay. It has right firmness for your child and fits tight & snug in the standard size matress. I am giving four star because pricing is not competitive for this quality of crib matress and i am starting to notice slight depression on frequently slept area.

Good, but shrinks over time
My son’s been sleeping on this mattress for almost two years, and for the first while I had zero complaints. However, over time it has shrunk significantly, I’m assuming due to pressure from the fitted mattress covers and sheets. Brand new it fit the crib perfectly, but two years in there’s about a 5″ gap between the end of the mattress and the crib. It’s not a problem with a toddler, but it means I can’t reuse this mattress for my new baby as it would be dangerous for an infant. This is the only crib mattress I’ve ever had so I can’t say if shrinking is an issue that comes with them all or not. But it certainly did with this one. It’s also softened up quite a bit, with more than a year of my son standing, walking, and rolling around like a crazy person in it, but again I can’t say whether or not this is typical of crib mattresses.
Firm & affordable!
This mattress is perfect for my 5 month old. It fits in the crib perfectly, the firmness is exactly what itâs suppose to be for infants and the price was right!

I opened the package when it arrived and was extremely surprised by how substantial this crib mattress felt. I read the great reviews and figured it must be pretty good to get all those reviews, so I was expecting a good mattress, still when my husband and I opened the box I was pleased to find a thick mattress that looks like a REAL mattress, not just a piece of foam. I said, “Wow, you can see how this mattress will work with our crib to be a toddler bed when the baby is older!” I felt so pleased, because we got this at such an affordable price, and it will do double duty with our convertible crib, so we can use it for the next few years to come. I can easily see our tiny baby, growing into a toddler and still sleeping on this mattress at 4 years old. The reviews said it stood up to years of use, and it certainly looks solid. So I was very happy with my purchase. Also, it feels like it would be comfortable to sleep on, yet it’s safely firm (a baby mattress must be firm, not too soft, to reduce risk of SIDS). I also like the waterproof covering which saved me more money (I was going to purchase a separate mattress cover as you usually have to, to protect the mattress from stains due to the likelihood of spills). So, so far so good, but I’ll update my review after our baby arrives and sleeps in it!PS – update, we put our crib together (it was a Stork craft model) and the mattress is a perfect, snug fit, just like the other reviewers said it was, so we feel very good about this mattress, no worries about gaps.

FINAL UPDATE: 3/21/2015Hey everybody! I just wanted to provide another (and likely the last) update to the ongoing mattress review. We upgraded to a big girl bed months ago, however, the mattress was still in great shape, so I donated it to a friends who were expecting a “surprise” baby. Well, said baby caught a viral bug and got sick in the crib. Today, I got a call from the mom RAVING about how resilient the mattress was. She cleaned with clorox spray and that was it. No stains, no odor, no nothing. I still love this mattress and think it will be one of your wises baby investments. I want to thank everyone for all of the comments, funny emails and questions! I welcome anymore anytime. Good luck with the kids! Six year olds are totally cray-cray, BTW ;)UPDATE: 2/3/2014Hi everyone! We just converted the crib to a toddler bed last week for a very sneaky and clever 27 month old. We still use this same mattress and we still adore it. Sheets are the same, blankets are the same, only now she can come and go out of bed as she pleases. No worries…her room has been “sweeped” for dangers and there is an additional baby gate at the door to keep Houdini safely inside. I say this because it has retained it’s shape and form beautifully and if baby’s diaper leaks overnight (and they will as they get bigger!) you can easily clean the mess. We use a waterproof mattress pad, but still, when everything is in the wash, I still give it a good wipe down. Baby loves it and she’s 20 months now. One thing i really appreciate about it and you may not care about this, but since there are no springs, she has never had the urge to try and jump up and down on it and escape the crib.Also, some of you have asked about the size of the mattress and it is at least average crib mattress size, if not longer. I am paranoid by design and I never had one unsafe thought or experience with this mattress. I suppose if you are using an older crib or a HUGE one, you may have minor issues, but we use a solid wood crib to full size bed convertible type ($$!…don’t even get me started on the cost of a good heirloom crib!), and nada…no problems.Feel free to contact me here with any questions. I have to say that I am floored by the quality. This is for our second daughter (on her way) and our oldest used a mattress 2x this price and when I compared them side by side, I was blown away.Here’s why:1. It’s a dense, high quality memory foam with a waterproof cover on it (removable)2. Contrary to what other reviewers say, it’s big; as a matter of fact, it’s a good 1.5″ longer than our brand name more expensive mattress that pales in comparison. The old one is like sitting on a series of crunchy springs and the new one is like sitting on a tempur-pedic with a non-crunchy waterproof cover.I did a lot of anal retentive research in this purchase and am shocked that this is the real price for this mattress. Don’t hesitate on this one. It feels and looks very high end. You’ll be glad I did all the psychotic research for you in advance.
A lot of crib mattresses are water-proof or come with a water-resistant cover, and based on the fact that our son hated the waterproof bassinet mattress we originally tried to use, I was afraid he wouldn’t like this one. Thank goodness, he sleeps like a dream on it! The mattress does not make a lot of noise when setting him down on it (the bassinet mattress made a crinkling sound because of the waterproof lining), it is nice and firm, super light-weight, and easy to put fitted sheets on.We purchased this with a DaVinci Kalani 4-in-1 convertible crib, and I would note that it is just a little bit too long for the crib, maybe a half an inch, or even just a quarter of an inch. Nothing that would put the baby at risk – the top of the mattress stays perfectly flat. However, the mattress is so snug with this particular crib that it bunches up in the bottom corners where the metal mattress supports are. I don’t know yet, but I could see this potentially leading to some tearing in these areas in the future, since there is additional stress on the lining. However, this is not the mattress’s fault, and I actually love the fact that the mattress fits so snugly in the crib that there is absolutely no room between the mattress and the crib for our son to get caught in. And since this mattress is one of the least expensive out there, if we end up having to buy a new one in the future, I can live with that.Overall, seems like a really good mattress for the price. Will update in the future on how well it lasts.
