Good tool to have for the First time parent
While likely not as accurate as the ones used by the Doctors, it is overall very useful to have and simple to use. Very sensitive too. It picks up the weight of a swaddle wrap. It needs a single 9 volt battery, which you have to buy yourself.I was worried about our recent new born who had lost over 10% of her bodyweight. And she didn’t seem to be gaining as fast over the following 2 weeks since birth. But by checking with this, it definitely motivated us to keep going at it with the feeding (mainly spooning milk in between feedings).I’m happy to say, it definitely helped push us over the edge for our daughter gaining weight as recommended and milk now producing better as one of the days, her weight actually went down, so we really blitzed it after a lower weighing which really helped turn the corner. It also took the anxiety out of the Dr. Visits and relying only on them to measure the weight.

Convenient and sturdy.Very high quality and can weigh as high as 20 kg so will use for years.Bought it as we are concerned whether our 2 month old at the time was gaining enough weight. We now have what my husband calls weigh-in Wednesdays lol

Bought this to keep tabs on my son’s weight and do weighted feeds.I never ended up doing weighted feeds but I imagine with patience it could totally work for that.It’s hard to get a good reading on babies (that’s not really the fault of the scale) and sometimes the hold function can be a little off.For the most part we aren’t out much from the scales at the hospital which is nice.Price tag is a little steep for all the more I use it and the little cradle piece would be pretty uncomfortable for everyday use.I weighed my cats on this and I worked great for them though.Worked great for my toddler too as a step scale!

We bought this back in 2008 to help track our breastfed and slow-to-gain weight daughter’s growth. We loved being able to compare her measurements at home rather than guessing and estimating and waiting till her next appointment.As she grew, she loved standing on it and asking how much she weighed, then dancing around shouting “I’m heavy as a boulder!”.She’s finally outgrown it at the 44 lb. maximum now at age 6, but this sturdy scale lives on. It’s absolutely fantastic for weighing packages for things we’ve sold on eBay and elsewhere — no waiting in line at the Post Office to pay for shipping labels, we can just weigh the packages and print ’em up at home in confidence.Pros:- It turns on and zeroes itself quickly- I like that you can turn it off rather than using up extra battery time while it times out- Our daughter thought it looked like Mickey Mouse which made it fun to stand on (some additional decoration with dry-erase markers encouraged that, too)- a fabulous second life as a postal scale!- it’s taken a lot of jumping on, banging, being dropped, and other misadventures and still does an accurate job- exact enough (to the 1/2 oz.) for almost everything we’ve ever used it for, from child to packages :)Cons:- it’s a little heavyGuess that’s it. A sturdy, reliable, great little scale and quite reasonably priced.Update 2021: 8 years later, this scale is still a champ. We use it to weigh packages mostly, and it’s quick, accurate, perfect!
