Great nightlight, detection of movement is alright
Have been using for a few years and still works great ! Originally bought it in case my parrot (cockatiel) had a night fright hoping this would detect his frantic flying around the cage and turn on, but he’s too small and the sensor doesn’t detect his movements even when close to it. Would probably work for a dog or cat if they walked by, definitely works for humans if that is your intended use !
Perfect
Iâve tried a lot of different night lights but to date this one is definitely the best. Have a few of them in various places, bathroom, landings etc. Motion sensor is just right not over/under sensitive. Front strip light is always on (only in low light levels) and the brighter back light is triggered by the motion sensor. Although the bright backlight only stays on for approximately 30 seconds if no motion is detected you are never left completely in the dark with the front light softly glowing. Very close to perfect.
Good product
Great light, works as described. I returned it though because it was too bright for our particular needs. We wanted a dimmer light for the bathroom so that when you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, a dimmer light won’t wake you up as much so you can go back to sleep easier.Note that the front light will always be “on” in a dim/dark room. The back part of the light is motion sensor.
Very sensitive, even for small pets
I bought this light for our little dog who is starting to lose her vision due to old age, and who always gets up in the middle of the night for a drink of water. She was drifting into the wall by the time she reached the end of the hall, and I had to do something. Enter this motion detection light: it has a gentle glow when in standby mode, and is quite bright when at full illumination. It easily lights up the entire hallway, and into our room. Because full illumination lasts 60 seconds, it stays on during her drink, resets on her way back to the room, and shuts off by the time she settles back in bed. This worked out so well that I bought 2 additional units. An absolutely fantastic purchase
Best night light I’ve ever had
Bought this for an upstairs hallway so the kids don’t have to turn on the main light to go to the bathroom. Motion sensor activates at a healthy range but not so overly sensitive that it gets set off by the slightest movement. In the dark the unit has a small main light that remains on as a night light, then when the motion sensor detects movement, activates a brighter light to illuminate the immediate area. Once the room is brightened, the unit turns off automatically. Overall it works brilliantly, I’m very satisfied with it.
Works, but could be better
I have compared this unit with 2 equivalent units from other manufacturers which are similarly priced. It’s performance is right in the middle (not the best, not the worst). Some observations:- This unit is the dimmest of the 3 units tested, but is sufficient for use as a night light. My other two units were significantly brighter (which is my preference).- This unit has a front light that always stays on, even if nobody is in the room. I would prefer it to be off to save energy or at least have an option to change the setting.- This unit does not turn off immediately when there is light in the room. When I turn on the room lights, it takes 10 minutes before the front and rear light turns off. This seems excessive. My other two units turn off immediately when the room lights turn on.- This unit does not work in a power failure. One of my other units has a built in battery and can even be used as a flashlight.- This unit has two modes, ON and AUTO. ON means both the front and back lights are on all the time. Auto means it will turn on when it detects motion.- When plugged in, it will probably block any other plugs above or below it if you want to plug in something with a grounded plug (3 prongs for North America). It may work for ungrounded plugs (2 prong).Generally speaking, this unit works and does the job.
The right amount of light
Bought this for a guest bathroom after visitors told us it was so dark they couldnât navigate to the washroom in the night! This gives a soft glow & then it brightens just enough to not need to turn on the main light. Itâs the same size as my Apple mouse lol!
Looks nice but have gotten two defective items
Nice looking lights. Provides enough light but are not overly bright. Very handy for hallways and bathrooms etc.Update: these are nice lights but one of them quit working last night. Bought in February 2018. Was plugged in bathroom so does not get as much usage as the light in the hallway. Obviously must be defective as they should last longer than that!. Contacted the company and they advised they would replace it. Waited over two months and did not receive replacement. They finally refunded the money and I had to repurchase a new light. Received my new light, plugged it in and within a few hours it was no longer working. Definitely would not recommend this product!
Iâve tried a number of motion sensing nightlights and this one is my favorite. The Sensky motion sensor light is great for the following reasons: 1) It only comes on when the ambient light around it is very low. 2) When the Sensky is in very low to no ambient light, there is a dim led on the front (room facing side) that comes on. This led provides just enough light to allow you to see when approaching the device in complete darkness. 3) Once you are near the light, the motion sensor activates very bright leds on the wall facing side of the fixture which provides plenty of indirect light to see your way around. We use it in our master bathroom and it negates the need to turn on the super bright main light fixture. 4) The motion sensor is quite sensitive and works from a wide range of approach angles. 5) It is quite stylish for a nightlight.The only possible negative aspect of this nightlight is that when it is plugged right side up in the lower socket of a standard outlet, there is little to no room to use the upper socket for anything else. If this nightlight is the only device you will be plugging into an outlet, then this is not an issue. As a nightlight, this Sensky device is the best one available.My second favorite is the Maxxima 55W because it is very bright (maybe 20% brighter than the Sensky) and only comes in in the dark. But it has no dim approach light and the motion sensor, while very sensitive, only seems to work well when approaching from straight on (90 degrees to the wall).
Very bad.initially worked well, but stopped working as a motion sensor after 6 months. Not worth the money
I bought 3 for home to help support and guide my 92 year old dad with Alzheimerâs, and these little super strong smart lights have been a life saver! My dad can see when he wakes up in the middle of the night the light is dim but comforting- instead of being in pitch darkness. Then as he starts to move the little powerful light senses movement and self brightens itself! It is brilliant!! So he can walk easily in his room, then out into the hallway with another light, then into the bathroom with another nightlight. He is Safe and he can see! The lights automatically dim again when no movement is detected so they blend right into our home. Being an old man should not feel scary in your own home, and being a daughter knowing he is safe and I can see the lights brighten to alert me he is yo is so re assuring!I am buying 3 more to use at the front door, back door, and door to our terrace – because you never know if you have to exit your home quickly and can not reach the light, canât find the light switch or just get disoriented – these powerful little lights provide a guide to safety! Get some for any loved ones you have especially seniors – they make a great gift that shows you understand and you care!
This is perfect for a bathroom nightlight for those middle of the night visits.
I like this light. It turns on low when the lights go out and then lights up brighter when someone is near. The reason for the lower score is when you plug it in, the plug in is too low so the top of the light covers the second outlet making it unusable. Not sure what the designers were thinking and why the testers let it pass.
