Small pieces, possible choking hazard
While I do like the design of this toy, I believe it is far to small for the suggested age. For reference, my child is 5 months old (though is exceptionally big – 97 percentile) and this is a photo of the stick and #1 next to his hand. If not watching very, very closely, he could easily shove these in his mouth and choke. The rest of the numbers and shapes are a big larger, but still would not trust that my child would not choke on them. Rating 2 stars only because it does seem well made, just not practical for children – especially for the age suggested.
Missing piece
Item came missing the number 2 and has an extra number 4. Because it was a Christmas present it wasn’t opened in time for the return date.
Not the best quality
I bought this for my nieceâs 1st birthday. One of the two mallets was damaged and I returned it immediately, worried that she would get a splinter.Itâs cute, but unfortunately cheaply made. For a toddler, the wood needs to be smoothed out all around.Perhaps I got a bad one because other reviews seem to love it. Iâm not sure that they did a close inspection though.
Choking Hazard
Pieces are very small. Says 3 months + but some numbers (example 1 & 7) are small enough to be a choking hazard. The sticks for the xylophone are also a choking hazard as the ball was loose. Wood was very sharp.
This was a very good gift the colors are bright the size was a bit smaller than I imagined the quality in the build was very good sturdy the educational factor in it is wonderful multiple uses and shapes numbers colors just all around educational wise excellent age range from the time they are sitting up year old and up toddler. I feel I received a good product for the price I paid the value was worth paying for what I got I would purchase this product again
This was a gift but she started playing with it. So now, I didnât bother to wrap it. The wood blocks are the perfect size for her tiny fingers.
It’s nice to see something that’s not plastic for a change – and his toy fits the bill when it comes to simple design and fit for purpose. All the parts are glued together so there are no nails to come loose, and it not only rolls, but there’s also a little pull string so kids can pull it around the room. The shapes are solid wood blocks (I don’t know what kind of paint, sorry) which is a nice change from the normal plastic parts too – but I have a real concern that some of them are small enough to fit in a baby’s mouth and become a choking hazard. Keep a close eye on your kid as they play with this.Lots of chapes to learn and all the pieces fit in their respective places easily – although they aren’t that closely matched.Because yes, the oval (and other pieces) goes in the square hole.
Our grandson immediately started to put the blocks and wand in his mouth….haha! But seriously, he enjoyed putting the blocks in the block and pushing them around, dumping them and then starting all over again. He is 10 months old.
I love the toy it has great features but if you child doesn’t know not to put things in there mouth yet, I would wait on this. The pieces are small enough to where this is a choking hazard
