You can use them with or without the straw
I really value nutrition for my child, and the puree pouches at my local grocery store don’t align with that value because they’re all just filled with a bunch of fruits and sugar and no protein or fats, which are the nutrients a kid actually needs. So I’ve been making my own purees and using these pouches. I fill them up and freeze them, and take one out at a time. They can be microwaved, but I find just running them under hot water works well too. My kid likes to squeeze them so I don’t use the straws, but I think if you were going to use them for juice/liquids instead of purees that the straws would be more helpful. I also like that the box came with a cleaning brush.Easy to use, easy to clean.

I had the disposable plastic pouches with my older 2 kids, and I loved the convenience of it, but I was excited to see this reusable, dishwasher safe option. The only thing is I wish it was just a little easier to fill the pouches. The disposable plastic ones I had a long time ago had this filling station thing that you attached the pouch to and then pushed it down into the pouch. But these holes are bigger so it’s doable just a bit messier and not as streamlined. The convenience of being able to wash them makes up for that. They are on the pricey side but could be worth it if you use pouches a lot and definitely if you prefer to make your own. I am wary of store-bought pouches right now because our pediatrician said there was lead found in some of those pouches recently, but pouches are so convenient for on the go, it’s nice to be able to make my own.
These silicone pouches look like they are very nicely designed. Thereâs a good amount of flexibility to them, which makes them easy to squeeze for little hands. This set comes with eight pouches in four different colors, and they also include a couple of cleaning tools/brushes which was a nice surprise to find. The inner straws are removable, which not allows for easier cleaning, but also more versatility in what kind of pureed foods or beverages you want to use. My sister likes making her own baby food, and sheâs tried her hand at different purees over the years. She has a new baby girl who is months away from trying foods yet, but I thought these would make a nice gift set for her to use when baby is old enough.
I love these reusable baby food pounces from Jelly Ruru! 8 of them come in a box (I wasn’t sure what I was getting at first – the listing says 1 count even though the stock photos show 8). They’re nice and chunky for little hands to easily hold, and the handles make it easier still. The silicone is thick and sturdy and I’m confident these won’t be leaking. The mouth opening is actually big enough to be able to pour purees into, the lids ‘seal’ well and the straw is a bonus. It comes with a cleaning brush, too! I appreciate that they’re dishwasher safe.
Iâve only recently became aware of LFGB certified silicone and after doing some research, I feel very good about using this with my children. The price might seem high but youâre paying for premium non-toxic silicone, and actually the price is cheaper than similar products made of the same grade silicone. I love that these pouches have a built in handle for little hands to grasp, they are easy to fill because of the wide mouth design, they donât leak and are very easy to clean (top rack in dishwasher). The different colors are nice as well and help me identify the contents more easily. Highly recommend!
These are amazing! I love that I can use these as my baby grows. Even better I can put my homemade baby food in them. I refuse to buy store bought pouches because Iâve seen so many videos of parents finding mold in them. I love that I can have the convince of using a pouch while being able to know whatâs in it and see whatâs in it. These are easy to clean if youâre using a dish washer. I’m so happy it also came with a cleaning brush for those who donât have a dishwasher.
