Great find
8 year old was able to follow instructions and complete the build without help. The controler app was difficult to find and download as it wasn’t on an app store. (You have to go to a website and install it that way). 2 years later both the robot and app still work. My son loves this.
Great combination of lego & robotics
A family toy where everyone can jump in and participate in the construction. Definitely it is not a 6+ in terms of recommended age for a +450 pcs. Should be higher.
Could not find app, and head tilts back when driven.
This was a good project to build with my 12-year old but be advised about a few things:- having Lego experience really helps. We had to disassemble a lot of the assemblies and reassemble them to get them just right. There are many pieces of different shapes and sizes and while it is easy to find the pieces, it was not as easy to put them together correctly. The instructions were good, but it still takes quite a fine attention to detail.- the instructions say to attach the head using a very minimalist method, and as a result the robots head jerks back and becomes unstable as you drive the robot. I would say this feature is a poor design but the rest of the robot seemed to go together to build a robust robot. I would expect people will find ways to fasten the head on better. It’s possible that designer wanted the head to be tiltable and that’s why they did it the way they did, but when you’re driving the robot, you don’t want to have to keep tilting the head back forward.- the robot did not seem to be programmable. The box seemed to indicate that there was an app that could be downloaded, but in Canada we could not download the app, if there is one. We did not overthink this or stress over it though, because downloading half-finished apps from small companies on our devices is not recommended due to cybersecurity concerns anyhow.
Nice toy and features
My child is enjoying the robot and nice educational toy. The various design options is a nice option to change designs as they need it.
Good Product
Bought this for my boys. They spend time building it (with help from parents). after completion we put in batteries (remote requires AAA batteries). They been loving it so far. it comes with USB to charge the battery in unit. Only issue is it tips over when going back (maybe the tread is put on wrong?)Love this. If you want kids/grand kids to spend time building or leave you alone for couple hours, Good to have.
Works well
This was a Birthday gift for an 8 year old. He absolutely loves it! Did not need much help to assemble, and it has provided endless hours of entertainment!
Ideal gift for a young boy
My grandson almost had the robot completed then sadly a main piece was missing. After a few correspondences with the manufacturer asking for the missing piece (only) the company sent us a new complete similar robot. We were able to show what piece was missing by circling the piece on the instructions and forwarding the picture through email. All ended satisfactory.
Good
It really good product
Really really good. Manual is clear, parts are working well and the whole thing is a ð¯
We took a break from some of my son’s regular homeschooling during quarantine, to work on this project together. We spent the whole day blissfully unaware of time passing, and just enjoying how fun this little robot was to assemble in different ways, charge him up and watch him go. It wasn’t as complicated a build as our major programmable robot builds, but the parts stayed together better on this guy and didn’t cause stress and frustration to my 10 year old with ADHD. It was just solid fun. The next few days, he found even more ways to assemble him than even the box suggestions, and figured out how to make him push little things around the room, like a ball to our dog. THAT was hilarious! Our dog didn’t know WHAT to make of that idea! LOL! It had all the parts and they all worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a beginner robot fun project to spend an afternoon on.
Si
It was a nice knock off Lego set. It’s supposed to be comparable to mindstorm I believe. You’re pretty limited to what the robot can do. It’s basically a remote control car/tank (because of the treads) that looks like a robot. My son likes Legos but wasn’t interested in building this. He played with it for about 5min and now it’s back in the box on a shelf. IMHO, pass on this and buy some real Legos and a remote control car and you’ll be better off. However if you’re looking for robot looking remote control car you have to build, then it’s not a bad deal.
Bought this for my 6 year old grandson. Though it said 8 and up I wanted something challenging for him. Everyday after school and his homework was done he would put pieces together. Things he didnât understand he asked his mom or dad. They got into it also and loved putting it together. On the fourth day he send me a video of it complete and playing with it. He wants another one for his brother, whoâs 2, so they can race each other and see who can do it better. Will looks for something for Christmas and it beats watching tv
