I bought 3 of these as they seemed to be better quality than other silicone plates. However, beware if you use any scented dish soap that it will stay on the plates forever. All the food that touched the surface ended up tasting like soap. I tried the online suggestions of soaking/cleaning with vinegar etc and it did not help. We stopped using these and opted for bamboo plates instead which work much better.
Itâs a great plate and we use it for dining out mostly. We like the look and the heft. Plus itâs easy to clean and we like that you can pop it in the dishwasher. The suction is decent but she flipped it the first time we used it after about 30min. She first did that at around 13 months so it might have been more resistant to being lifted when she was younger. I think most kids can probably tear a suctioned plate or bowl off eventually but she doesnât usually bother until the meal is over and sheâs bored, by which time thereâs rarely a lot to toss on the floor anyways and we can grab it before things get messy. Definitely pleased with the purchase.
As grandparents we have tried all the things to get our grandchildren (twins) to eat instead of play with their food on the tray. At this age (1 year) it was more interesting to them to have things separate and easier to grab as they were able to slide the pieces up the side of the dish. Also, having the food items separate allowed us to see how much of which things were actually being eaten. The suction works best if it’s damp but our littles were able to still work at getting it unstuck. The good news was that it took a little work and we were able to quickly re-stick it or grab the dish before it went overboard. I love that the dish has a square side to it so that it can be placed right up to the edge of the tray. Clean up is a breeze; however, I’ve not put it in the dishwasher.
I always read reviews and respect what consumers have to say. Well now I understand the raves about Simka Rose products. Beautiful colors and so well made. Wish these products would have been out when by girls were babies. Will make a really nice shower gift â¤ï¸
I used this on my wooden table and the suction was good but not perfect. I put it on a counter top and it stuck like glue! It would probably workson a high chair well.
Definitely not pull proof. My 13 month old got it up first try. On the other hand itâs good quality, easy to clean, very cute plate. I feel like heâll have this plate for a long time. Hopefully way past the plate throwing phase âºï¸
