Smartbottle has been tested for phthalates leaching into the water.  Smartbottle is made from medical-grade Polypropylene, which is BPA-free and is the same material that has been used for approximately 50 years in Rubbermaid and Tupperware containers for food and beverage storage. Additionally, this is the same material that has been used for baby bottles, breast pumps, and breastmilk storage for the last 35 years.

Does Smartbottle have a metallic taste?

Is Smartbottle made of glass?

Because of its glass-like look, many people think it is glass, however, it is a soft medical grade polypropylene which will not shatter like glass and would be about 20 times lighter than glass: a metal container. Smartbottle is approximately 28g compared with metal bottles which weigh usually between 900g and 1400g.

Does Smartbottle have a low carbon footprint?

Will Smartbottle keep my coffee hot?

Under normal room temperature conditions, Smartbottle will keep coffee/tea hot for approximately 3 hours and if you add the Smartbottle Insulator it will keep hot drinks hot for approximately 6 hours. If you want to reheat your drink, simply put Smartbottle in the microwave, and presto, it is hot again!

For cold drinks, Smartbottle can be put in the freezer overnight, and you can have ice water the next morning, at least until noon. Freezing Smartbottle will not distort the shape of the bottle. If you add an insulator, it will extend the cold period by a further 4 hours approximately. (When freezing, allow 1 inch of headspace for expansion)

My metal bottle smells when I open it, will I have the same problem with Smartbottle?

The reason your metal bottle smells is because there is mould growing in tiny places like the threads or the corners of the bottom of the bottle, because the bottle is metal you can’t see the mould to know that it’s there and properly clean it. With Smartbottle, which is transparent, any trapped debris can be immediately seen, sterilized in the dishwasher, or removed immediately.

I have seen many recalls on metal bottles due to toxic lead in the solder of the bottom of the bottle. I have seen many popular brands having this problem and recalls, will I have this issue with Smartbottle?
