A friend told me about this product and I was intrigued to learn more. My god-daughter had just given birth and she has had little rest. Their baby monitor kept them awake all night as the baby made noises, fretting. Everyone was exhausted. Enter Rapt Baby – with its soothing, almost spiritual sound tracks. L. first noticed that the shape of Rapt Baby was adorable. She tried every track and settled on womb sounds for their first try. L and her baby found the sounds so relaxing that both fell asleep. They spent the following morning listening and relaxing. L. studies and teaches comparative literature, and so the development of language capabilities drew her in. Her baby, now 8 weeks old, responds to sounds and we both thank Rapt Baby for helping not just calm everyone down, but gracefully teach baby during rest periods and awake periods too. This was an amazing birth gift. I will send it to every new mother and father!
The design of the RAPTbaby sound machine looks nice and has good sound quality – plus, I like that it’s a small device that doesn’t take up much space. It has several soundtrack options (our favorite is the nature music – my child listens to ocean sounds while taking a nap, so this is perfect). There’s also a timer setting of how long you want the sound on for — 30, 60 or 90 minutes (no remote, but this can be adjusted at the top of the device). It comes with a USB cord for charging (but not the charger block).We chose to purchase this sound machine because it supports development for young toddlers – which I thought was unique and different from other sound machines. I love the combo of the soothing music and that it supports brain development all in one device, while my child is taking a nap. I highly recommend this!
I donât regret the purchase. Itâs one of the most expensive sound machines on the market for sleep/baby development.Pros: upon opening you can tell itâs well made. The buttons are sleek and comfortable to press. Each button has two sounds per category for a total of 8 sounds. The speaker is of quality material and the sounds are clear and crisp. The timer option is nice though I keep it on continuous throughout the night and turn it off in the day.Cons: the sounds arenât long enough. When the music loops itâs not a smooth transition (IMO).For the price, I expected longer musical songs and more than 8 options. TBH there are probably free apps or even Alexa that could do the same thing as this machine. I plan on keeping it so that my phone isnât occupied with every nap/sleep.Ways that the manufacturer could make the product better, add stars for a nightlight. Offer a sunrise wake up option so the product can grow with the child into childhood.I plan on keeping the product bc of the most recent studies stating that excessive white noise can potentially damage your internal ear and cause hearing loss later in life. For that reason this product is worth keeping.
Ok I really go by reviews when getting something from Amazon and so I read them all and also looked at the website and a lot of the research linked there. I chose this sleep sound machine because the tracks were created to support brain development and itâs based on actual studies and solid science. It works amazingly (weâre ALL sleeping better) and I love the way it looks in the room.
