Design flaws
This Smartwo Montessori Wooden Hammering & Pounding Toy is made of good smooth wood with no splinters. However, as someone mentioned, the balls don’t go into the holes easily and require several strong hits from the hammer. The wood is of good quality but is slightly soft to handle all this hammering, resulting in dented and misshaped balls. Also, in many cases, the balls just go over the holes in the lower levels and slide out.Despite these flaws, my kids are enjoying it, hence the three-stars rating.
Could be better
This is one of those toys that isn’t necessarily the best just because it looks wooden and montessori. You need to hit the ball a lot or pretty hard to get it through the hole. This is pretty noisy and the balls end up dinged up within a few minutes of play. The balls don’t always fall through the holes and sort of get stuck along the tracks, often flying out the sides instead of going down as it should. The wood itself is okay, it’ll get beat up pretty quickly though and I suspect it won’t stand up well over time at all. Included photos show after 2 hours of access to the toy (not even constant play). The balls and mallet are sturdy and well constructed. While my daughter enjoyed this, I wouldn’t recommend. If yiu are happy with it only lasting a short while it may be worth it, it has been a source of enjoyment and entertainment.
I would have given it 5 stars if my baby didnât like to pull it apart so often. My husband needed to superglue the frame to prevent her from taking it apart and using as a weapon against the floor and other objects lol

Wollte eigentlich ein Weihnachtsgeschenk kaufen und habe ein defektes “Glumpat” (Schund) vorgefunden.1) Als Geschenk unbrauchbar, weil es nicht in einer ordentlichen Verpackung, sondern lediglich im Versandkarton, kommt.2) Qualität = unbrauchbar. Insbesondere für ein Kinderspielzeug, das für 2-jährige verkauft wird (sowas muss was aushalten). Bohrungen für Dübel sind ausgebrochen, Dübel selber zerbrochen, Zusammenstecken der Teile (übrigens ohne Anleitung, die gibt’s nämlich auch nicht) aufgrund der Beschädigungen bei den Dübeln und verzogenen Teilen nicht möglich, ohne dass alles noch kaputter würde. AuÃerdem sonst ein paar Schönheitsfehler (die aber für den Preis ok gewesen wären, wenn’s denn nur die wären).Die Spielzeug-Idee ist süÃ, aber die Umsetzung ist (insb. als Geschenk) einfach zu mangelhaft. Die Produktbilder schauen leider schöner aus, als das, was man erhält.Daher zurückgeschickt.
Cela fait 2 fois que je commande le produit, la 1ere fois il est arrivé sans les balles, et ce coup-ci c’est le marteau qui manque !!!Je suis vraiment déçue de ces insuffisances !!!
