The cot itself packs down pretty small and isn’t too heavy. It’s definitely not light weight but not too bad for car camping. The mattress is pretty comfortable and fits well. The frame is super easy to pack up and set up. There are some pinch points so be careful. I have no complaints; this will be an awesome upgrade from sleeping on the ground. Very well made and no issues with quality.
This is a lightweight and easy-to-use portable camping cot that can be propped up in a jiffy when needed. It also comes with a very handy carrying case with a shoulder strap, so youâll have no trouble carrying it around when hiking. However, given the price point, I am surprised by the lack of structural stability.When someone in my household who is 6â0â and 183 pounds gently laid down on it (a perfectly normal weight for a full-grown man), it clearly wobbled and buckled. He also watched it wobble from across the room when my 5â2â self laid down on it (I weigh less than him, but a lady never reveals her weight in an Amazon review). Ultimately, it looks like you may run into trouble well below the 330 lb weight limit.The thing is, the 3 legs are folding Xs, and right-angles donât provide a lot of support. The only two locking mechanisms are placed diagonally from each other at opposing ends, and there is no sort of middle structure running down it vertically to provide support. I donât think it would immediately collapse in the middle of the night or anything like that, but I do worry about users who toss and turn in their sleep.Although it would increase the weight of the item, it may be helpful for the manufacturer to add two middle bars that could snap in at the middle to connect the leg portions to one another.Otherwise, I found it quite comfortable to lay down on. The mattress isnât very thick â again, for the sake of being able to carry it while hiking or camping â but it provides a nice fabric cushion against the firm canvas material stretched in the middle. I also appreciate that thereâs a small pocket on the side that you could use for stashing your eyeglasses or a paperback novel when youâre ready to tuck in.Four stars for creating a product that will likely last for years, but unfortunately, I have no choice but to deduct a star because of the insufficient structural support. However, Sportneer seems like they create great products in general, and I look forward to an improved version of this portable cot hitting the market in the future.
We dispersed tent camp and like to do so into the Fall so being up off the ground makes a pretty good difference in staying warm throughout the night. Iâve had a cot for a couple years but my son never wanted one. I decided to get this for him anyways and heâs really glad I did once he slept on it a few nights in a row. Itâs pretty light to carry considering and fairly quick to set up. Love not having to deal with an air pump for the mattress and my son likes having the side pocket to keep a light handy.Weâve only used this for one camping trip so far but I see no issues at this point with it to speak of. I see us getting a lot of use out of it and give 2 thumbs up.
Very happy with this folding camping cot and itâs a game changer for me! Easy to set up and take down, super comfortable, Iâm 5.9 tall/ 210 lbs and there was lots of room for my arms when I was laying on my back. When rolling over onto your side the cot and mattress donât move. Itâs durable, lightweight, portable, and fits easily in the car. Makes camping much more enjoyable and fits my needs.Great value for the price. Highly recommend for any outdoor adventure ðð¼
Snagged this to rebuild my camping set up. Mostly was looking for a cot frame to keep me off the ground (I use the mattress topper separately for lounging in the car, but I don’t take it in the tent). Definitely has made Renaissance faires more comfortable! Fits easily in my 2 person tent.I love that the frame folds up twiceâitâs almost identical in size and construction to my friendâs army surplus unit. It isnât too heavy, but it definitely does not feel âlight weightâ while in use. The poly-canvas sling is heavy duty and has not stretched or sagged yet. The frameâs spread is very secure and is not easy to tip over on the long axis. However, it wobbles when shifting weight on the narrow dimensionâthis is 100% normal and does not mean itâs poorly constructed, and this motion should be avoided anyway. The only thing I worry about is the two small wing-clips that hold the frame in place wearing down over time, as these pieces are not easily replaceable.As of right now, I love it! However, Iâll update if things change over time.
