Fun for all ages; great for theme parties
This egg-shaped projector is very cool, and it’s pretty good looking. The cracked finish feels more like paint that plastic. The product photos in the listing accurately depict it and it’s capabilities. The rounded shape and base cup allow to you swivel it to aim in almost any direction, and the friction provided by the base is more than sufficient to keep it at whatever angle you’ve set it at.It came with a white 52″ USB-C to USB-A cord, but you’ll have to either provide the USB charger to power it, or plug it into a computer. The remote will require you to provide 2 AAA batteries.Besides the power button, the other 3 physical controls on the egg are all audio related. The remote control is really comprehensive – there are so many buttons! You can turn on/off red, green, blue, and white LEDs in any combination to provide a variety of colours. You can turn on/off the laser independently of the coloured LEDs. You can even turn off all the coloured LEDs and laser, and just use it like a funky-looking smart speaker. If you leave the egg cap on, it makes an interesting nightlight instead of a projector. There is a phone app, that thankfully you can use in “guest mode” to avoid registering for an account (which seems unnecessary for a device like this). I tried both guest mode and registered mode, and couldn’t see any difference in the controls/capabilities presented. If you have more than 1 egg projector, they can both be registered in the app, and controlled independently. Two egg projectors can also share 1 remote control.I tested two projectors in the same room, which really added to the colour intensity and pattern complexity. The phone app is easier to use than the remote, and can control everything, including colours, brightness, nebula speed, playing music or the built-in sound effects. The built-in speaker is decent, but not as good as a dedicated smart speaker. It could use more base, especially at lower volume levels. The projectors it quite bright and can fill the ceiling on a 20×20′ room.I’m looking forward to projecting a blue nebula with the floating candles I recently got, to create a sort of Hogwarts dining hall experience – I think it will look fabulous!
Mood lighting par excellence, but only one colour laser and a mediocre speaker.
Right when I plugged it in and took off the top I knew something was a foot when my eyes began to protest. The green “stars” actually come from a laser emitter on the periphery and the width/range is really quite remarkable. If your head enters the vicinity of the projection cone, you could easily get an eye full and I found it to be rather disconcerting. Especially because there’s no warning in the manual about it. Moreover, the intensity is definitely there because it hits the walls and ceiling with 100% density just like any other laser. Of course, that’s one of the reasons it looks so pretty, and you can even make the laser breathe just like the regular RGB emitter. Fortunately you can turn it off at any time so it’s not like it’s a deal breaker.I won’t lie that the multitude of buttons on the remote were a bit intimidating at first, but it took only 5 minutes to understand what each did. You only get the 4 colours on the remote, but in the app you apparently get the full spectrum. Really like the wave light myself, especially in the dual colour and slow moving modes, although the speeds are a bit limited. What’s more is that the only way to get out of the “mode” transitions where the light breathes is to hit one of the colour buttons. Otherwise, it’ll breathe forever – something I found out with a bit of trial and error. As for the speaker, it’s mediocre at best. I like the waves crashing, cricket and rain sounds, but some of the others are a bit tacky and you can tell where they loop. The “dinosaur” one is overkill and really quite annoying; but I know there are more on the app, which is actually worth downloading for this particular product. Bluetooth connection was flawless, as were the music controls, but the sound out of the speaker is rather hollow with very little bass, and there is no EQ to tweak it. So anything in the higher registers will sound just fine; but anything low will sound kinda empty. The lighting effects are just so much better.Really though the only disappointment is that you can’t change the colour of the laser, nor have it move in any way like the RGB lights. The best you can do is adjust the brightness and breathing effect; but I honestly would’ve preferred white stars instead of green. Everything else is actually pretty good. Like I said, the width of the projection cone is GREAT for something this size and it easily takes up the entire ceiling in a relatively small room. The laser density is perfect (so watch out), and it does add to the aesthetics a bit; but it would’ve been nice to have a little more control over it in the app.For casual parties and dances, something like this is invaluable and you can even get it to respond to outside noises. Also might’ve preferred it if the exterior of the egg were black instead of white, to make it even less conspicuous in the dark. Nevertheless, the performance can’t be denied; and the fact that the remote gives you access to everything except the full colour spectrum is a massive plus. Batteries not included of course. Oh yeah, and a warning about not looking into the laser should’ve been common sense. So I might keep it behind or above the head for safety. Otherwise, it’s probably the best mood light I’ve ever had and would make a solid night light. 4.25/5 stars from me.
DESCRIPTION: Star Projector Night Light, Galaxy Projector for Bedroom, 15 Color Mode Built-in 8 White Noise, and Bluetooth 5.1 Speaker, Remote & App Control, Timer Function, Christmas Light Projector for KidsPROS: Excellent ceiling coverage. So many features. Remote as well as button controls on the egg. Quality design and construction.CONS: None.WHATâS IN THE BOX: The egg light, a remote control, power cable, and the user manual.REVIEW: THIS IS MY FAVORITE PRODUCT OF 2024! I love this little night light. And I canât say enough good.First, the quality of the materials is excellent. It feels clean, if that makes any sense. Itâs like touching flat paint vs glossy paint. Not quite chalky, but a nice feel to it. The paint detailing is fantastic. And I just love that the egg has two modes. The glowing egg and the night sky on the ceiling. The glowing egg highlights the crackle paint to perfection.I love that in both modes you can chose various color options. It makes the egg very versatile because kids have favorite colors. But the colors in this egg are all great.Itâs nice that you can control the egg from the remote or the egg buttons. I go full remote. Itâs just easier to see.I do with it came with an adapter. But who doesnât have a couple of those spare nowadays.I was so surprised to crisp and sharp the green stars were on the ceiling. Now, there are limits and the stars to begin to fade some in the far corners of your room. But overall, wow.The timers are good. Little kids will want this on all night, but itâs better if it goes off after a couple hours. No problem. It has a one- and two-hour timer. Thatâs perfect.I donâtâ even know all the features that this little egg has. I think there is the ability to sync music to the lights and run it like a Bluetooth speaker. I didnât do that, but it has that capability.Though I will attach photos, they wonât do this little egg the justice it deserves. Itâs so much better in person. I was surprised how it can fill even a larger room! So, for those sleepovers where there may be a gaggle of kids in the living room. You can transform it to a beautiful galaxy!AMAZON PHOTO/DESCRIPTION ACCURACY: The photos and description are accurate.VALUE/VERDICT: I cannot recommend this product any stronger than to say, if I could give it 10 stars, I would. Itâs that good. If you have kiddos that havenât had something like this before, you should get this. You wonât be disappointed. At $49.99, I have no problem at all with that price. Maybe I did before I got my hands on it, but now, itâs well worth it!
I’ve experimented enough with similar projection lights to know right away what I like and don’t. Let’s face it. The egg shaped usb plug in lamp is asking to get knocked over on a routine basis. Sure it has a seperate base that will help, but to a small extent. The egg also has a removable shell so you can filter light to a soft glow. To me, that is a second part that I need to worry about storing or losing. The remote is bigger than my blu ray remote which is not bad thing but yet another part that needs to be labeled and stored. The remote allows you to choose some pretty clear and realistic sounds that include thunder storms or even dinosaurs. The remote is a little confusing because it looks like a tv remote with many buttons.I knew in advance that the projection area would be far from modest by noticing the size of the projection ball. The myriad of green dots all but completely fills my ample bathroom, transforming it into a soothing and pretty room, especially when the rotating blue hues are added. That was my primary reason for purchase. The lamp isn’t really stamped with an age range, it is not childish. It can be enjoyed by persons of all ages. I wish it wasn’t associated with parts though. I think most people will choose an effect and leave it, bypassing the need to constantly reach for the remote. There are two other issues that I find frustrating, one may just be my unit but mine has a problem powering on. Mine doesn’t want to power on easily or immediately with a single press of a button. It puts up a fight each time. This wouldn’t be so bad if it did not have an automatic timer that shuts it off. I was counting on some gentle light to help me see in the dark but instead I opened my door to darkness because of the built in timer. I will need to go back to the instructions to find out if I can used without a timer. If not, it will need to be activated manually every evening. I will have to return to this review again.I do find this lamp completely giftworthy and I would not be ashamed at all to present to somebody, especially somebody under the age of 20. The dinosaur egg somewhat limits your audience but it can always be disguised inside a hurricane lamp or a basket and such if you don’t want to see the actual egg. It’s a very cool lighting effect all will enjoy. Truthfully, at night it is hard to distinguish where the light is coming from anyway.
I ordered something similar for a very close friends daughter for Christmas and I got jealous ( LOL ). This starry night light is exactly what I was looking for!The options and variations for this projector are almost endless. I downloaded the app because I couldnât get the remote to work very well (the remote sensor is on the back and itâs a pretty small area). Again, the app had all kinds of variations for the lights, speed, colors⦠Everything! You can even make your own variation of lights with speed and how the colors interact. Add music to it and You have your very own special Galaxy light. How cool is that?! TOTALLY worth every cent! With the app its almost overwhelming the amount you can do. You can literally change every shade, every movement, there are themes, seasons and so on and so forth. You can change the opacity and make it more vibrant or not. The entire eggs lights up, even with the top on. Once off, it is a magical scene of lights. You can also set a timer to it- and if you donât make it too overly bright, watching the colors wisp across the ceiling is enough to put me to sleep- then it turns off.I am 1000% satisfied with this cool little projector. Its so crystal clear, bright, relaxing and captivating. This is definitely something you want! I even stuck it in the bathroom and took a nice long hot bath and let the lights just lull me into relaxation. The box includes everything you need to be up and running in minutes- add an extra minute or two for the downloading of the app (if you choose to do that). The egg is well constructed (I did drop it from the coffee table and it fine) and like I wrote, it includes a charging cord, NO BRICK and a user manual. In the couple of hours I used it it didn’t get so hot you couldn’t touch it. It was warm but not hot!I am mesmerized by all the wonderful light shows this neat little guy can create. I abs hands down 1000% recommend this.
The smell of the paint was very strong and chemical-like. It went away within an hour of unpacking it. The device is awesome especially the fact that you can select up to two LED colors at a time making more than just RGB and W color settings (ie: B and R = Purple). The laser stars are my favorite. I haven’t played with the audio selections that much since the speaker on it is low quality as expected. I mainly got it for the lighting and laser effects. Remote does not offer a lighting intensity setting meaning you can’t dim the lights like other devices like this offer–not a huge loss but just something to note.
Thereâs so many cool things about this projector.Itâs bright(fills a room even with a medium lit room), good speaker, the egg shape, removable top, the finish, the colors and so functional and so intuitive I only needed the instructions to scan the QR for the phone app.Itâs quality construction and doesnât feel cheap. It has a remote, but once the app was in my phone I packed the remote back in the box for safe keeping.looked for something I didnât like. The egg is such an obvious solution and ball joint effective in positioning the angle of the extensive spread and range of the blinding projector light. It doesnât create any noticeable heat and doesnât use an annoyingly loud fan.Even off, it stands alone as interesting art and I have it prominently displayed on a shelf. For the price and what you get, I feel greedy for finding one thing that would 6 star it. It could have the addition of a battery and be able to take outside. I can only imagine how it would light up the woods, by my home, at nightâ¦It must be used and seen in person to really appreciate. Photos and videos just give you a hint. Itâs the best projector in this price range Iâve ever used, and the best looking at any priceðð¼
