Unobtrusive but effective protection
I only installed these a few days ago so I can’t vouch for how they will stand up over time but so far they are excellent.These stick well. I am surprised to see some reviewers comment that these fell off the wall. They are very sticky, a bit on both sides, but the outer side loses its sticky feel quickly. For good adhesion I made sure that I stuck the flat side (not the rounded side) to the wall. I held this protector by the edge against the doorknob then swung the doorknob and this protector against the wall so that the protector was positioned exactly where it was needed. Although the protector stuck immediately, visually I could see where the protector was stuck to the wall and where it was not because I could see the paint through this protector. I then spent a moment pressing parts of the the protector against the wall until is appeared to have adhered over the entire surface. There were still air bubbles visible between the protector and the paint but these were small after I pressed on them and tried to work them to the edge. Because this protector is clear, light diffracts through it creating an illusion that it was not stuck in an arc on one side. By holding my hand to create a shadow on the protector I could clearly see that this arc was stuck to the wall and the arc was just room light being bent by the clear silicone.Some people commented that their wall paint came off when they removed this kind of protector. I was applying to newly painted walls and the paint manufacturer states that although the paint dries in a few hours, it takes 7-14 days to fully cure, so I did not apply these until the paint had time to cure. When I was applying these, they sometimes stuck in slightly the wrong place. I had no problem peeling them off the wall and reapplying with no hint of paint damage and no noticeable loss of stickiness when reapplying. I watched a video online that indicated that in order to avoid paint damage these should be peeled slowly, beginning at one edge and pulling the protector back parallel to the wall rather than straight up away from the wall. This is a common technique for removing many kinds of adhesive items without damaging the surface to which they are stuck.I like that these are not too thick. I had a thick harder plastic wall protector on one wall, but it popped off taking the paint with it when I hit it moving furniture. The ones near the floor (e.g. the spring thing) get in my way when cleaning. This one is not very visible and a good size.I had considered getting protectors that would be bigger than the doorknobs, but when I stuck these to the wall I realized that the doorknob hits only a very small area on this protector. Rarely would a doorknob be shaped so that the initial contact area was large when it hit the wall or this protector. I could probably have even used 1″ diameter ones that were positioned appropriately but this size was convenient and unobtrusive.The cushioning seems good. I swung open my doors with a degree of carelessness to see how they thumped against this protector. There was a decent thump sound, but not the jarring sound of a door hitting a hard stop like the metal ones and there was no wall damage. I think that the thickness and softness of these is about right. I don’t think they will fully protect a wall from damage if the door is slammed forcefully open in anger, but I think these will protect from normal impacts such as when I fling the door open because I am carrying an armload of stuff and otherwise being inattentive or in a rush.Time will tell whether these stay stuck, and whether they damage the paint when removed years from now, but for now I am happy.Update 2024 July 29 (above written around 2024 May 20): Above I comment on how I pressed these against the wall until they appeared to be stuck over the entire surface. That doesn’t last. After a few days these appear to be only stuck in a small (maybe 25%) of the circle. That said, they stick well and have not fallen off or moved. If these were opaque, I would never have noticed this and I still like them.

Strong and slim wall protector
We needed something not too thick so that the baby gate wouldn’t stick out too far from the wall when left open. These are perfect for it. We put one on the top and one on the bottom. Perfect solution. They stick really well. I had to reposition one and I was able to pull it off and reposition it no problem.UPDATE: Jan 2024 these have yellowed significantly but they are still stuck on wall so far. Added a couple new pics.

I just put it on my wall and decided to move it quickly, and it already took the paint of my wall. I didn’t even press too hard.
