Tie a knot to shorten it
The one-point attachment on this toy-holding hammock is more convenient for us than a three-point corner hammock would have been. And the hammock holds a pile of stuffed animals and pillows quite securely.(BTW, Amazon promised me a joke if I wrote seven reviews in a row Seven reviews later, no joke was provided. Joke’s on me I guess.)Instead of using the hook provided, which I didn’t have a lot of confidence in, I secured it to a ceiling joist using a swing-hanger ring with a large screw suitable for swings and hammocks that hold people rather than toys. I had the hardware on hand, and really wanted to stuff the hammock full, not to mention that I’m sure our four-year-old will give it some good tugs, no matter how many times we tell him not to.It does hang low, and we have a shortage of vertical space where we put it, but I tied a big knot in the top to reduce its length, and also cut the bottom tassel short. So far so good, though I’ll tie it up even further if it stretches. Currently it’s less than 120 cm in length when full, including the couple of inches of skirt left under the neck of the tassel.(As for comments by other reviewers, yes, the hammock hangs long and narrow if not full, or if you don’t stuff things down into the sides. That’s generally to be expected of netting.)

Way longer than I expected. My fault I didnât measure. Hangs to almost the floor from an average height ceiling.Wish it would have worked as it came with a great hanging bracket, and seemed to be great quality.

Wish it was shorter
I really wanted to love this hammock. My kids have a ton of stuffies and they’re currently in a bin on a floor. I thought something hanging from the ceiling would save some floor space and keep them accessible. The teardrop shape in the ad was what drew me to this particular product.Unfortunately, the photos are not an accurate representation of the actual shape. It stretches out into a long, skinny teardrop, and it’s longer than I expected. The macrame is strong and sturdy, but neither the shape nor length were what I was hoping for.So! I took the top length and knotted it lower, just above the opening. That helped produce the more rounded shape, and it doesn’t look weird because, well, it’s macrame. However, the weight of it with all the stuffies in it is considerable. It’s big enough to hold a lot, but I don’t quite have confidence in that little white hook… I may have to try to get something sturdier, even if it doesn’t look quite as nice. Until then, it’s sitting on the floor in the closet.Three stars for having to modify the product to achieve the effect shown in the ad.
Great quality
We ordered the XL, and as you can see this is about the amount of stuffies it can hold for reference. We chose not hang from wall or ceiling but instead in closet to allow more floor space. Ordered another one for my daughterâs room.
