Reviews

  1. Worked for a few months, battery went shot, screen stopped working
Terrible support from Summer as well since they won’t sell the parts separately in Canada and they don’t honour their warranty. Never buying any summer products again, such a scam. It was clear image / video quality, but don’t let that fool you. It will fully break on you in a few months and you won’t get help from them.

  2. Great quality
I found the picture and audio to work great. Camera is easy to use, automatic detection also good. Only draw back is that if you leave the battery charging too long it seems to deplete battery life. Only charge as needed!

  3. Stopped working
Really great monitor and great picture quality. Battery life seems fine but we always have it plugged in over night. Easily mounted to the wall. I like that the display goes on and off quickly with the touch of the top button. VOC mode when plugged in does not turn off automatically.I do find that the lowest volume is still too loud, would like it to be quieter. Will be purchasing a second camera for baby #2UPDATE: the battery has worn out…needs to be plugged in constantly. Annoying!!UPDATE 2: stopped working, won’t sync to either camera. Garbage.

  4. Overall great monitor
I love this monitor. I had 3 Vtech monitors before this one and I decided to try another brand once the third one broke again. It has simpler features and that’s likely why it works better.I find the picture quality to be fantastic. That’s comparing it to 3 Vtech monitors that pictures were awful. I can see everything clearly at night.Voz mode does become manual when the monitor is plugged in. The screen will din but if it detects noise and turns on you will have to turn it off manually, whereas if it’s not plugged in it would turn off on its own. This doesn’t bother me because the only time I have it charging is at night and it’s right beside me. I have it off the charger all day and it lasts.I really like that you can still hear noise in the baby’s room when the screen is dim. That’s new to meI use the white noise feature a lot and it’s wonderful. I don’t find it too loud because the camera is not beside the babies head. I had it ha gong on the wall so it needs to be loud enough for baby to hear it.Overall I’m really happy with this monitor. I’m so glad I decided to switch brands. This is way better than my last 3 Vtechs. If you are super picky I do t think you will find a monitor you like.

  5. Best non wifi with practical features…but..
Tried Arlo baby (not reliable, but good picture), Heimvision (Grainy, slow camera pan), and old summer infant converge (poor image but reliable and sound good). Here are the pros:-picture quality is decent for non wifi-love the sound bar and vox feature-reliable-picks up sound well-zoom and pan/tilt is useful.Cons:-lowest sound level is still loud-lowest brightness setting is bright-no ability to record movements- camera cannot be mounted upside down-screen automatically shuts off if not plugged in, no option to change-moonlight feature… useless.-boundary box only has two sizesWe bought this mostly as reliability for Arlo isn’t great, so to have a backup for sound is good. It’s a great basic camera. Does the job with some fancy features that are not necessary (songs, white noise, moonlight).Battery life is okay from what I see so far but we mostly keep it plugged in to watch baby anyways.Wish it had option to record.Overall, I would still recommend based on the functionality of it and reliability.Especially if you buy via Amazon warehouse for 1/2 price, it’s worth it.UPDATE:Battery holds a good charge but it gets really warm if left plugged in! (We plug it in to see baby so screen doesn’t auto shut off).I took battery out and plugged adaptor in and the monitor still works so that’s good.

  6. Not Bad, Not Great, Battery Issues
I wanted to like this monitor so much. Things started out so great but just over time it went downhill. Summary below:TL;DR – Decent build, good picture and resolution. Buttons are too soft. Mediocre range. I have had lots of battery issues. Overall, not the best option but not the worst option.PRO’s- Picture quality is decent. No complaints.- Night Vision is very good. Lots detail and clarity.- Build quality is solid for both the camera and handled unit. Dropped both many times without issues.- Range is good enough. Not super far but good enough for most houses.- Audio is pretty good. It also has a bar indicator of noise levels in the front.CON’s- Buttons are very soft, accidental touching happens all the time.- Stand is very tough to pry out from it’s holding place.- Battery sucks. Doesn’t last long.- Had to replace glitchy batteries multiple times.- Doesn’t stay on all the time. Screen shuts off.- Audio for voice is crackly.Read the reviews and thought it was a no brainer. Unboxed it and loved the touch and feel. Monitor feels good on the hand and big screen. Camera has good with, long cord and easy to mount or stand. Pairing was simple but sometimes loses connection which is annoying. Picture quality is great. Very clear and good detail. The first annoyance was the camera buttons are so soft and it’s easy to click one by accident. Woke my kid up once by doing it. Secondly, the screen doesn’t stay on and you must keep turning it on or else it shuts off. I wish this was a toggle you could use. But by far the most annoying thing is the battery. It’s terrible. We’ve had to replace ours twice. Don’t let it die completely cuz that’s when the issues happen. So so so frustrating. To the companies credit they did send replacement units quickly. In summary, not bad for the price. It will work. Just know that it’s not the best and there are some compromises.

  7. This is my second time purchasing this camera. I used this one over 5 years ago with my first and wasn’t expecting to get pregnant again so had to re purchase. After extensive research with all the new products out- I came back to the old reliable. I love that this camera is not connected by WiFi but straight camera to monitor. The sleep boundary mode is a huge bonus along with the zoom, night mode / night light for better viewing, great battery life and no delay in video or sound. This product has given me huge peace of mind to be able to even see my baby breathing (chest moving) clearly whether at night or day naps. I will never not recommend this product.

  8. Have had this monitor now for a full year. We loved it when we first got it, picture and sound quality are great. Unfortunately the battery life is AWFUL. We have to keep it plugged in 24/7, if left unplugged it is dead within 30 minutes. My other issue with this setup is when it is plugged in, the monitor does not time out at any point so it will stay on the whole night if it senses movement. There is no brightness control so it will light up your whole room. I keep it face down while sleeping.UPDATE 9/29/2020Do NOT buy this. We added a second camera (an extra $100) for our second child and bought another battery straight from Summer Infant ($30). I could live with it not holding a charge, not an issue, just leave it plugged in but now port where you plug into the monitor no longer works and it won’t charge!!! Do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT buy this. It is a huge waste of money.

  9. Purchased this as a replacement for a previous Summer Infant baby monitor that we’ve had since 2013. The monitor has a large screen with easily accessible and intuitive buttons. The picture quality is excellent, even in night vision, and the 6x zoom feature allows us to see the baby up close even with the monitor across the room. I was also impressed at the panning ability, both up and down and side to side, as it has significant range and we can see the room in its entirety if need be. Though we purchased for the good camera quality, we are also making use of all of the extras, such as the music/white noise option and the boundary feature, which is perfect for a toddler that is likely to climb out of the crib any day. We also love the temperature display so we can make sure his room is cool enough! I will be purchasing a second camera to add to the monitor for our newborn coming this fall. Love this monitor!

  10. I absolutely LOVE this monitor, I just purchased it to replace the old Levana monitor that I had, whichI kept having to send back for replacements (over 5 times in the last year and a half), so I finally gave in and decided to purchase another monitor all together. My overall impression of this monitor is its fantastic! The picture quality and sound are great and I still cant get over how clear the picture is, especially in the dark when it’s using the night vision (there is no pixilation and it’s crystal clear). I also haven’t experienced any lag time with it at all. My other monitor doesn’t even come close to comparing to this one. This monitor is super easy to use, the camera was easy to install, there are no bright lights that are distracting to my daughter (on the actual camera) when the lights are off. I like the 2 way talk function, which I had with my other monitor and I tend to use quite a bit. I like that you can set a boundary and will notify you if your child crosses it.The ONLY reason I am giving this monitor 4 stars is because the screen doesn’t stay on unless it’s plugged in. If it’s not on the charger it goes into power save mode and the screen goes black and you have to keep turning it back on if you want to see the room. It does have voice activation, so when it’s in the power save mode, that will turn the monitor screen back on if there is any kind of noise that it detects. But for me, I prefer to have the screen on fully, at least until my daughter falls asleep because some times she has a hard time sleeping but doesn’t always make a lot of noise. I did call over to the manufacturer and they said as of now there is no option to turn off the power save mode and keep the screen on when it’s not plugged in.So the only thing I would say is that if being able to have the monitor on all the time is important to you, you may want to reconsider getting this one. Otherwise, this monitor is AMAZING and I would highly recommend it!

  11. My absolute favorite baby monitor! Amazing quality!
