  1. recommended
I got this book while I was still pregnant, in a moment of panic which made me think that I didn’t want to just give my baby food out of a jar and what do babies eat after jar food and when? I love to cook and this book is so full of great ideas and food combinations that I have since incorporated even in mine and my husbands diet. I love that it explains salts, fats and how much is needed and how much is too much for a baby. My now 14 month old daughter has a wide menu and loves food. I would classify this book as a great reference for any meal. Thanks!!

  2. Super easy recipes
Super easy recipes! Baby loves (almost) all of them! I love that there are the Nutrition Facts for every recipe. Our favourite part is the section at the back of the book where you can rate each recipe, write notes and mark down if you would make again or not – makes it easy to remember baby’s favourites!

  3. Loved that the book offers several easy ways to cook …
Coming from someone who was adamant that she would not be making baby food this book was very user friendly. Loved that the book offers several easy ways to cook the food and highlights which ones you can freeze. I received this as a gift at one of my showers (Actually I received two copies haha) and I am so glad I did as I would never have bought it myself. I now give it as a gift to new mom’s.

  4. Good, but don’t agree with all recipes
I’ve only just begun to use this book, but I am mostly happy with it. The information provided (I.e. Tips on how to start feeding, etc) were really helpful. The recipes are easy to follow and progress in complexity as the child ages. My biggest critique is that the authors too often suggest to use juice in the recipes. Young babies do not need that extra sugar. They have not acquired a taste for it yet. I was very surprised that as a dietitian, the author would recommend adding sugar in the form of juice during the early stages of feeding. Otherwise, I’m quite impressed with the book.

  5. great!
Purchased as a gift for a friend and it’s great! It’s really well organized, includes simple, quick & easy healthy recipes, adds tips and tricks, and even includes a section in which you can ‘tick’ off what recipes your baby liked, how much, and if you’d make it again so that when you’re looking for recipes, you can review what you’ve already done & it’s likeability with you baby. It’s awesome!

  6. Lovely
I was hoping for more complex meals, but this book offers VERY simple, no brainier recipes. The entries are mostly one major ingredient. I thought I’d be getting more combination meals to make for my growing baby. I can figure out how to peal and steam a pear on my own; if you know what I mean. It is definitely geared towards babies who are just beginning eating solids. Bottom line, if you need a step by step guide on how to mash bananas, boil carrots, etc. then this is for you. If you’re looking for meals that have combined veggies, meat, etc, steer clear.

  7. Great information as well as great recipes.
I love this book! Great information as well as great recipes. Speaks about what nutrients a baby needs and why. Breaks the recipes into what is appropriate for baby at each month. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

  8. Looks awesome!
I have not yet made any of the recipes in this book, but it looks like a really good one. I can’t wait to use it. There are soooo many recipes, nice presentation, pleasant to read. I would buy again, I probably will buy some for my friends’ baby showers.

  9. variadas recetas para la alimentación del bebe en varias etapas. Además tiene información sobre nutrientes y indica cuales las recetas que se pueden congelar

  10. A first time mom, I was determined and enthusiastic to teach my daugther about real healthy food. So I bought tons of books. This is the only book from which I cooked every single recipe. Over and over again. Apart from easy, healthy and creative recipes, the book is a valuable guide to the basic healthy nutrition principles.Added perk – The design Is lovely, my daughter spends hours looking at photos and identifying ingredients.Cannot wait to open the next two books of Laura!

  11. I am so glad I bought this book instead of some of the others I looked at. This book is chock full of good recipes for baby, but they are all easy to make and not very time consuming. The authors are a registered dietician and a registered nurse, so it’s not made by someone that just threw a bunch of recipes in a book and tried to sell it. These are well thought out recipes that are healthy, age appropriate, and sure to give your baby a great start. I’m so happy with the amount of recipes that include foods not normally found as “baby foods”, such a beets and artichokes. There is a clear timetable of when to introduce certain foods, which is a feature I like. Plus, they have marked all the recipes with a snowflake for foods that freeze well, which is always great when planning ahead.I love the tips sections that are included every few pages of the book, as most of them are quite helpful. Also, in the back, there is a couple pages with every recipe name written down and then you can rate it and leave comments in the space provided as to whether baby liked it, didn’t like it, try it again later, sort of thing. There are storage tips and a lot of good information as to what nutrients baby really needs and why. As a nutrition major myself, this book has most of the information that I know as a student, so for the average parent, it is above and beyond.Anyone that is looking for a book that has easy to make, quick recipes and is wanting to give their baby a great start to eating, this book is definitely it. And if you’re concerned about some reviewers stating that the authors use butter in some of the recipes, they do. And if you know anything about babies, you should know that they need fat in their diets to keep them healthy. There is a difference between giving your kid McDonalds french fries and using butter, which is natural, in some of their foods. The authors, as well, explain this in good detail. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased that I found this book and will never have to buy the crap at the grocery store again!!

  13. I found the nutrition information interesting, but was hoping for for more recipes that didn’t consist of just puree or mash in a bowl, as most people could come up with a lot of these meals themselves at home without the need for this book. I was looking for ideas for older babies.
