Reviews

  1. Easy and tasty for baby
Easy to follow, simple recipes. I love the “adventurous combinations” section.

  2. A great cook book
What a great book! Not just for baby but the whole family.

  3. Would but a thousand times over.
The recipes aren’t over the top or necessarily super creative but they are mindful of sugar and salt content and they grow with your child. Everything I’ve tried out of this book has been a hit with my kid

  4. LOVE this!
Only removing a star because the first 40 or so pages on making extremely simple purées like applesauce seem like a waste of space. They could have summarized such basic, one ingredient recipes to start off a baby, within 3 to 4 pages. BUT after that, it gets very useful with TONS of delicious recipes for every category. I love that it grows with your kid, and there is a section for recipes to do together with your little one. I should have gotten this cookbook sooner as it would have made lots of nights wondering what I could cook for my baby easier.

  5. Great for BLW
Lots of recipes for different ages

  6. Great Baby Shower Gift
Guaranteed your recipient will love this book and they won’t get doubles!! I ve already given 2 of these books as a gift. It is really a great book that takes you from first foods to family meals.

  7. Amazing cook book
Amazing cook book for any mom. Love the layout. Each recipe tells you the age group and how much time it takes to prep the meal. This is my favourite cook book!

  8. 90% good
I really like this book because i am not much of a cook and I can still make all of my baby’s food because the book breaks down instructions very precisely. Ie tells you exactly how to steam veggies with what pot, with or without a lid, and for how long. It’s basic but if you don’t normally steam zucchini’s for example, the details are helpful. All of the recipes have turned out as pictured (no waste) and my baby eats it all. The only thing missing is there are no instructions on how to introduce allergen-type foods (peanut butter, dairy etc). For that reason it is not “complete”.

  9. I’m reviewing this as a cookbook, as it’s not a guide to baby led weaning. That said, I found some of the recipes to be inappropriate (like hard corn tortilla taco shells) for the recommended age, our pediatrician told us to avoid corn chips for a few years. Some recipes we’ve needed to portion differently/cut smaller, like the tofu sticks, fritatas and muffins. So use your own judgement about what your babies can handle. Generally I’d say the book is good, but not perfect about this. With that out of the way, the recipes are fantastic. I’ve made dozens of them, from 6mo-1yr and only 1 has been a hard miss (beef puree haha). Sometimes the recipes are so good, I end up making versions for the parents as well. Freezing leftovers in ice-trays has been a game-changer. It’s reassuring to have lots of options available and has been saving us money. Highly recommend!

  10. Most of my cookbooks sit in the cabinet and collect dust, but I’ve actually used this one quite a bit. It’s great, I love that every recipe has a picture. I also love the family meals section- only wish it were bigger. We have made quite a few of those and they all turned out great. I didn’t get much use out of the purée section (you don’t really need a recipe for one ingredient purées and my son wasn’t a fan of their combo ones), but I think it was worth it for finger foods and the family meals. I could see us using this cookbook more in the future.

  11. Great ideas for toddlers

  12. This is a great cookbook for beginners who want to cook meals for their toddlers as well as the whole family. I recommend purchasing it before you even begin with purées as there are lots of great puree recipes. I wish there were more “family dinner” meals. I’ve had the book for 2 weeks and have already cooked almost all the meals for my family. Best part in my opinion is that there’s a photo for every recipe.

  13. I really liked the easy to read recipes, the easy to see age, and the easy to adapt suggestions. This is really helping me as a first time mom to try and find simple but nutritious things to help my baby transition to solid foods. He is at a stage right now where he just doesn’t want to eat solids anymore, so its been helpful to have new things for him to try.
