Reviews

  1. easy to set up
I like this thermometer, its very easy to set up, has back lighting and the remote sensor works well. The indoor temperature reads within 1/2 a degree of the thermostat setting on my heating control. I really like the magnetic back. I just stick it to my fridge and no need to find any shelf space to place it. the magnetic has good sticking so it doesn’t move around when opening or closing the fridge door. My only concern is that i live in a colder climate. I’m not sure how the battery and the outdoor sensor will handle minus 20c. will cold spells kill the battery or will it just resume working once the weather gets closer to minus 10. i guess this would be a problem for all electric outdoor temp sensors though. i am happy with the purchase so far

  2. Great product
Easy to set up and use. Great for monitoring temperature and humidity in the storage area for my dahlia tubers.

  3. Great until
This thermometer team was amazing, exactly what we were looking for. Easy to set up, good range, ability to have more than one probe set up at different locations (sold separately of course).. until one day, the transmitter stopped working. It’s not the batteries, it still lights up.. but for some reason the “home” terminal doesn’t pickup the signal anymore so it is constantly refreshing. What a downer. It seemed to happen as the weather got colder.. no good for the cold north. I may purchase another just because I loved the ease of use so much.

  4. Works great
    No problem at all.

  5. A reliable brand and product
Clear big screen with back light, elegant design, accurate measurement. Can connect 3 indoor and outdoor thermometers to share temperature and humidity information.

  6. Quick, easy, readable, accurate. What more could one want from a thermometer.
Great little unit. Fairly simple to setup the outdoor sensor, and it is rechargeable. The indoor unit is desk, wall and magnet mountable and has a large not too busy screen. Just your 4 buttons on the bottom (That are very easy to press, just the faintest touch of my finger activates the back light) and just indoor/outdoor temperatures and humidity readings. There is also an arrow system that shows the trending of both the temp and humidity, so at a glance you can see if its starting to warm up or cool down. There is no clock or alarm system built in, and I was aware of that before purchasing. I would rather use my phone or my watch for that purpose then my thermometer. Leaves more room on the screen for the info I want, and more juice in the battery for the job I purchased it to do.The only issue I have with the device is that the specs on amazons website, the listed range for the outdoor sensor is “Outdoor Temperature range: -58°F ~ 158°F (-50 °C ~ 70 °C)”. However, when reading the manual that comes in the box, the listed range is “Outdoor Temperature range: -31°F ~158°F (-35°C ~ 70°C). This normally wouldn’t be an issue, but I live in northern Alberta…and it is quite possible that we could hit below that mark for short periods of time. This is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, if I could have given it 4.5 stars I would have.

  7. It’s great
I bought this last fall, October I believe, it’s now April and all is good. I’ve not changed any batteries yet and it very accurate, always within a degree of our local weather app. I hung the sensor out on a tree branch out of the sun beside the driveway and it’s still there. The display is easy to read, the backlight is quite bright, but honestly that’s not something we use often. I don’t see where you could go wrong if you’re like me and just want a basic thermometer. I highly recommend this. Edit: it’s almost June and the outside battery has just gone dead, so almost 8 months which I think is very good for a no name generic battery. A Duracell would probably go a year. Still working perfectly after a fresh battery edit: still working well, it was the end of July when the batteries in the indoor unit finally went dead. I really like this unit

  8. Overall nice, but with 2 designs flaw
Overall I like it the two but are1- It’s chugging thru battery. I don’t use the backlighting at all ( see point 2 ) and battery last only 2 months in the main unit. The cut off voltage is way too high. I cut off at 1.2V when a battery still have juice in it until about 1V even under. That also mean that if you put NIMH rechargeable battery in it the display will be faint and the low battery will display as NIMH battery are 1.25V fully charged and alcaline battery are 1.55V. The alcaline batteries are still very good as they are in my remote for more than 2 months and the remote is still working great. For me this is a major flaw especially in today worlds to create a device that basically generate battery waste rapidly ( not accepting rechargeable and cutting off when battery are still good ). I’ll probably have to open it and modify it to accept fully NIMH battery. I shouldn’t have to do this though. That is for me 2 stars off.2- the backlight would be a really nice feature but the backlight button is somewhere in the middle of the screen with no tactile indication. So to find it you have to open a light to see the icon on the screen. But then you also see the whole screen so there is no point to use the backlight anymore. If you “try” to find it, there is also the other prog buttons that you’ll probably hit before finding the light button. So nice feature, badly implemented. That is the other 1 star off.EDIT : after opening the device to include a buck converter in it it regained 1 star. The pcb is pro made, it have a very nice finish construction. The casing is also rommie enough to accomodate for the buck converter. and the casing is really easy to open. Two thing I rarely see on consumer product. I’ve set the buck converter to 3.2V which is about the voltage 2 brand new AAA alcaline batteries provide. Now the device accept any battery, nimh, alcaline, used, new, it will work until the batteries aren’t able to provide any juice at all otherwise the device will always see 3.2V and the display will have strong contrast. I’m loosing the “low battery” indicator though but that’s a trade off I’m ready to make. I think that this should have been included in the original design of the pcb. A standalone buck converter cost 1.50$CAD, so including one on a pcb we’re talking about pennies. As for the temperature reading ( I almost forgot that one, since I assume a thermomether will be calibrated and exact, but you probably want to hear about it ) the inside and the remote are within 0.3C of each other while standing next to each other but the humidy is 4% différence. The only two other thermometer I have are the one of my ACs. They are set set at 25C and at the moment they cut off the ThermoPro show 25.2C So I guess it’s pretty much accurate.

  9. Easy setup. Accuracy is within 1 degree. Tap for light works well. Excellent workable distance between outdoor sensor and indoor device.

  10. Product was over all good and reliable. But if you need my opinion, I just say one word “Overpriced”

  12. I am using these temperature units on my RV. The remote is mounted externally away from rain and wind when driving. It tells me the most important aspects, temperature and humidity, that I feel is required. I can mow determine if I need to put the AC on ir just open windows and vents, based on the differences between inside and outside air.I ran these two units side by side in our home’s kitchen for a few weeks. The two units were mostly identical or only 1/10 different. To try this test you need to have them right next to each other. Even 6 inches apart there is a slight difference in air movement in the kitchen. I put good quality alkaline leak proof batteries in each unit. Hopefully I get a year or so use out of them.I love the large display with the two readings. In normal room lighting the display is easily read. The touch sensor at the bottom is good and sensitive. Only a light touch and the back light comes on.I am super happy with this product.6 months later: It looks like the outside unit now has the batteries flat. The battery symbol was showing on the display for both in and outside units. Today I noticed there is no data from the outside unit. That is six months with very good quality alkaline batteries. I am a bit dissapointed about only six months out of the batteries. The outside unit it cable tied under the van at the back of the electric step. Oh well, lay on my back and shimmy under the van to get at the unit………..maybe I will reconsider where I put it, seeing it looks like every six months the batteries need to be changed. I will still give 5 stars. They are very good units.

  13. Have this monitored near my front door put out of the sun with the results on refrigerator easy to read with or w/o lighting. Works perfectly so far. Have had this for a month or more. Seems to be good value for money.
