I bought two Tiny Love mats, this outdoor one and a more quilt-like one. I don’t think it’s ideal for a tile floor like I have because it’s not very padded, but I still love it. I’m sure it would be even better on carpet or outside on the ground. It’s huge and easily fits my baby plus an adult sitting on it (or laying as his 5-year-old sister often does).My son can’t crawl yet and I think this mat is a little slippery for him to learn on, the other mat is better in that regard. The slipperiness could be a plus though, it’s meant to be an outdoor picnic type mat and it repels dirt, pet fur (which was important for us), and moisture well. I do get a few moisture drool spots but I washed them out no problem. When washing I suggest you don’t wash with anything else so the Velcro doesn’t ruin clothing.The best part of this mat though is folding it up and taking it somewhere! It folds pretty compactly and you fold it in half first so the bottom part never has to touch the play area. Paired with how easy it is to clean this is a perfect travel mat. The other Tiny Love mat I bought doesn’t fold up nearly as nicely so this one is going to be my go-to.
The mat is decently thick, making it comfortable to sit on for an extended period, large enough for two adults sitting on it.I use it for eating take-out food on the lawn of the parks: sitting on the mat and enjoying my food on the small foldable tables with the fresh air so that I don’t need to worry about the virus.I haven’t spilled any food on it so far, but I feel it should be relatively easy to maintain: the material feels somewhat stain-resistant, and the bottom side doesn’t catch any dirt even when laid on the slightly moist lawn, plus the mat is machine washable.The only thing I think can improve is that it should have something to cover the velvet part of the hook and loop strip beneath the mat, which catches some grass when it directly contacts the lawn.
I was sent a damaged/ripped item, that was stained and was missing the starfish teether. So I cannot recommend. A shame because it is very cute.
My 1.5 year old and 3 year old love this picnic mat! I laid it out in my front room to see what it was like and they played on it for a while. It is so soft and cute and colorful. I like the way it folds for carrying and storage. I plan to keep it in my van for use this upcoming ball season.
This is a cute nautical theme picnic mat for a small child or baby which has a very large open space when completely unfolded and laid out on the ground.I would suggest that this is a fairly thin padded mat so I would not rely on this to cushion from hard pavement, however if the ground is fairly soft to begin with, like a sandy surface or grass, this is quite adequate.What is nice is that this has a pocket built into the back so it can be folded up and stowed very easily without opening up all over the place.
