Super cute
This fold out chair is great. It is soft and fluffy and looks super cute. It is big enough that it is an oversized chair for my 3 year old. There is space for her to sit and even have a doll or stuffy next to her. It is comfortable enough for her to lay down on as well. It might be a little thin for older/larger kids but perfect for toddlers.
Not Properly Constructed To Serve As Child’s Chair, This Might Okay As A Pet Bed
Our grandchildren have always enjoyed having small individual fold out couches or beds such as this one; they can easily be moved from room to room and are ideal for snoozes, watching television, or even using as a tumbling mat. When my wife saw this animal themed version of such a chair, she immediately thought that our youngest granddaughter might like it.I must admit that this is the only product that weâve ever ordered online that has arrived inside two separate vacuum packs; needless to say, it was squashed down into an unrecognizable block roughly the size of a loaf pan. Upon releasing it, the chair and, more particularly, the bearâs head back, took quite some time to expand properly; it was finally starting to take its true form in about twelve hours. We were a little puzzled about how to set the unit up until we figured out that the various compartments containing the foam padding had to be zipped up; once this was done it was easy to see how the unit folded and unfolded. At this point, I should mention the fact that the manufacturer, Tivray, makes pet supplies almost exclusively. In fact, the packing carton for this chair was clearly marked as a pet product. Examining the chair makes me suspect that it is better suited for dogs and cats than it is for children. Some of the evidence pointing to this includes;-Unlike the arms of couches designed for children, the arms on this unit provide little to no support to a youngster occupying the chair; anyone leaning against one would likely fall sideways out of the chair,-In a similar fashion, the bear head back of the chair has little stuffing and provides no support to the chairâs occupant; a child leaning against it would be almost guaranteed to fall backwards out of the chair,-The heavy velcro patches used for holding the folded sections together have sharp exposed edges, and,-The long âhairyâ plush covering of the chair is likely to collect all manner of dirt, hair, and food; not really the clean, germ free environment often valued in childrenâs furniture. All this is not to suggest that the unit doesnât have some redeeming features. The foam cushions are comfortable and provide good, support, the anti-slip base does a good job of preventing the chair from sliding about, and, happily, the covering is machine washable. The unit might serve well as a pet bed although I question the use of a âhairyâ fabric such as this; it would likely need a lot of cleaningI canât blame the manufacturer for attempting to sell what appears to be a pet bed as childrenâs furniture, it is extraordinarily cute and very similar to products designed for kids. As much as I like it, however, I canât recommend it for children simply because of the safety concerns I have, particularly when the unit is used as a chair rather than a bed. Itâs a decent pet bed but just not good enough for my grandchildren
First off, this little guy is has been in the house for a few days only and it already has brought so much joy and laugher! Everyone uses it, the kids, the adults, the dogs, the cat and, anyone that comes for a visit has to give the doggie couch a try.I believe I’m the first person to review this so please bare with me, this review might be lengthy. What is this? This couch is somehow coded under “pets” instead of “kids” – the title of this listing: “human dog bed” is a bit strange and perhaps that is why it was placed in the wrong category. If you are looking at this listing because you think it’s a dog bed, it’s a actually a kids chair/bed, shaped like a dog. Not that it couldn’t be a dog bed, it will make a great dog bed, I’m just clarifying what this is regardless. I thought it was a dog bed because it generated under “pets”. And once I opened the listing and looked at the “related items” – those listings were all actual dog beds, shaped in chairs, sofa’s and loveseats.Packaging:The dog chair (see, here’s that pet vs. kid conundrum again)âokay, let’s call it a dog-shaped chairâcame vacuumed sealed into the smallest brick ever (roughly 12 x 6â) and packed inside a small box, packed into another box, and then the amazon box. I had no idea what it was, but it was fun to find out the surprise inside the bag! (Mentioning this in case you are thinking about giving as a gift, the receiver will have the extra âwhat the heck, what is this?â â and then have to wait until the chair slowly inflates and forms into its shape). Anyway, I digress. It took a while for the chair to decompress into its form after I cut the plastic open. It also didnât help that it was frozen, but you need to give it at least 30 minutes to come to life. Zero smell emanated from the package once I opened it.Construction:The chair folds into three sections and each section has an egg-crate foam block with its own zipper (Zippers are nicely constructed and good quality). The section that makes the âback of the chairâ has a hidden zipper inside the section which opens the head of the dog. Fortunately, all zippers are unzipped on arrival, which is nice, because I would never have been able to find the head’s zipper between all the doghair. The dog’s head, and the arms of the chair are filled with small cut-up blocks of foam nicely sewn into a mesh bag. The three sections attach with velcro on each side.I think that the dogâs head needs more foam, but nothing that would be noticeable. I whacked it on the head for the picture to show how much space there is, but the head of the dog stays inflated and round, itâs only when you mess with the head that youâll notice that head swill stay inflatedDog Hair:The dog hair. This is where it gets a bit hairy, and where some buyers might deduct stars or render this unacceptable at this price point. The hair is soft and long, but itâs a bit, sparse for lack of a better term. Depending on how the hair falls, youâll notice bald spots (bald lines to be more exact). This is not an issue for me, but it might be for you. See picture. It is mostly noticeable on the edge of the seat and on the edge of the arms. The hair is a bit long and covers the dogs eyes and gets into the Velcro and zippers. It will need a trim for sure.I vacuumed the entire thing to get rid of real dog hair and Iâm happy so say that is was 100% vacuumable, no hair pulled out or shed.Overall, the joy and fun this chair-that-looks-like-a-dog-and-turns-into-a-bed is the best!
The cushioning is a bit thin when this is spread out as a mattress. There are also some scratchy pieces on the edges that my son doesn’t like (the velcro tabs that are used to hold the pieces together in couch form). Other than that, the fur is really smooth and soft and comfortable. It’s most useful as a seat.
This chair is truly one of the best orders I’ve made! I initially ordered it for my puppy, and I love how it effortlessly folds up and can be stored away when not in use. The quality is outstanding, from the comfy cushions to the removable and washable cover. Plus, the Velcro feature keeps the sides securely together, ensuring safety for little ones while they enjoy sitting. The only minor issue was the head filling, which could be better, but it still does its job well.My dog, along with my nieces and nephews, absolutely adores it! I cherish the moments spent lying on it with my puppy while reading. Weâre definitely planning to order more as gifts. I wholeheartedly recommend this chair for anyone looking to make their little ones happy! Also, your pets will love this so much!!
This couch works perfectly as a dog bed, and my pets love it. The memory foam is comfortable for my dogs but the anti-slip bottom doesn’t really help it stay put. However, the fur is much thinner than shown in the pictures, which was disappointing. Still functional but not as advertised.
What a Happy find for our sweet and docile older Big Girl! At first when we set it up in the ‘chair’ mode, she seemed to not be interested at all, but once we unfolded it for the ‘bed’, she rushed over and plopped down and claimed it as her forever bed. Very nice and plusher than expected, it’s looks makes it’s functionality stand out even more. A pleasant addition to our little Sanctuary that makes another older girl of our treasured inhabitants extremely happy in her Golden Years.
