This is easily one of the better quality items I’ve received recently through Amazon. Children’s toys, especially, never seem to be as hardy or well-made as the ones my age mates and I had growing up, so I love to see something like this.The colors of the paint are rich and vibrant. For instance, the white is blazing and the pink is bright. It’s like the shades are saturated, but not in an obnoxious way, in a way where each color is clearly delineated from its fellows. The pictures of the farmers and their animals are detailed and precise, and they are drawn on satisfying, chunky wooden pieces so thick they nearly amount to being blocks. These figures are wide enough to stand up on their own, which is great for imaginative play, and they are painted on both sides. This adds a layer of complexity to the shape-fitting aspect of the set, because you might eyeball or even try to fit a certain figure into a space, and failing that conclude that the piece doesn’t go there. But perhaps it does, and you just need to turn it around so that it’s facing the other way. This may ve a little tricky or even frustrating to children new to the activity, but ultimately I think it’s beneficial. ‘Don’t give up too quickly; make sure you picture or try it the other way.’The barn seems quite solid and sturdy, with strong walls, a thick carry-handle, and a door secured with an elastic loop. Latching and unlatching the door is an added fine motor skill, and undoing the loop allows you to retrieve all the pieces once they’ve been inserted through their space. The fact that the door can be secured allows all the little figures to be stored safely inside.This is the type of toy that can go through all the siblings, and the cousins, too. Provided that your child doesn’t lose all the pieces, they could probably pass it down to their family some day. For this reason, it would also probably do well in a daycare or preschool setting, where any toys and books of course have to hold up to heavy use.The only caution I would give is that some of the figures, although quite thick as mentioned above, are yet small enough overall that they might present a choking hazard to a baby or toddler who still explores things with their mouth. So you may not want to introduce it to your child until they’re past that stage, and if they have a younger sibling at home, you’ll just want to be aware of this possible risk, and keep the smaller pieces out of their reach.
I received this toy for my 2 year old son. He was drawn to it right away. It’s very cute & a nice size. It feels like thick/stable wood, but light enough for my son to carry from the handle on top of the barn. Smooth edges, no concern of splinters. It’s nice that it comes with the barn & the two little puzzles that fit all of the animals. Every piece is accounted for. All pieces seem safe for young kids, no worries of a choking hazard. I REALLY like that the puzzle pieces are double sided because it makes it more challenging for kids. My son can do normal puzzles easily, but figuring out to flip the pieces around adds an extra level of problem solving. The one & only thing I noticed is that my son figured out that most of the pieces can fit side-ways into the slots for the people, so when he gets frustrated he starts stuffing them side ways into the barn. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, it’s just harder to get him to focus on trying to find the right slot once he learned he can do it that way- but I just cover that slot with my hand so he doesn’t notice it. Overall, a really wonderful product. Feels like a toy that will take him some time to really master & grow out of. Highly recommend!

This is such a fun toy. The quality of the more expensive name brand wooden toys without the price tag. The little barn holds all the pieces and has a little carrying handle. The animals are all made of a thick durable wood and painted bright colors. They fit into the barn thru the same animal shaped holes in the side. The barn door also opens to get the pieces out. There are 2 puzzles that come with it and use the same little animals that come with the barn. Im not as excited about those as the barn, but they are fun and educational.My granddaughter isnt quite old enough to play with all of it, but she can hold the little pieces. I cant wait til she gets old enough for this. Ive already had so much fun with it.
This is a cute toy with a TON of pieces for those parents who hate pieces. Other reviews have issues with the door closure but I have had no issues with it. It does seem to be like a hair tie but itâs functional & works well with the toy. The pieces have double sided images & thereâs plenty of ways to play, either by completing puzzles or fitting them into the barn. My kids like this toy.
