Very pleased with the TAPO C200
A very nice security cam indeed. Good quality. Nice clear streaming, sound, speaker, and stills. There are a lot of features that I havenât tried because I live in a safe place with no worries of intruders. I only need the camera for my cockatiel who had a stroke a few months ago and this camera is awesome for keeping an eye on him from another room, and especially when Iâm out. Itâs actually the best cam I have owned so far. Iâm very happy with it. All the basics Iâve tried of the cam work great and went way beyond my expectations. The app has lots of features and easy setup. The price was right and the camera arrived days earlier. Thanks to everyone who made that possible!
It offers excellent value for the price
Iâm amazed by Amazonâs delivery! Given the local weather conditions, I wasnât sure it would arrive on time, but it did!The setup took me just a few minutes, and the Pan/Tilt feature works flawlessly. The video quality is clear, and the price is definitely worth the functionality it offers. If you’re in the market for an affordable yet reliable home security camera, this is an excellent option!
Great image, good PTZ and offline options (MicroSD recording) HASS and Scrypted compatible
This is a great security camera for the price! The image quality is very good, the movement detections works great, has lots of settings for sensitivity. I use my without a monthly plan, using a MicroSD to record. The pan motor is somewhat loud, if you enable the “track movement” option, you will hear the camera move when the room is quiet. I can see my cats going up to eat at night and the camera follows them. It comes back to the original position once it doesn’t detect movement.Playback using MicroSD is fluid, super responsive, and the quality is really up to par with the higher end cameras. Even when i’m outside the house on my phone. I can also talk and listen live.The pan/tilt function is super useful, allows you to look all around the room. Mine is installed on the ceiling, close to the wall, the only thing i can’t see is the floor right beneath it. I could potentially shim the base at a 15 degree angle.. then i could see everything from the floor to the ceilling. If installed at the center of a room, the 360 degree rotation helps you see the whole thing.For Home Assistant users, the camera has a mode that you can use to access all of the functions like a generic IP camera, look up “Tapo: Cameras Control” for more information. I know it works with Scrypted too.Overall it’s a solid choice, and gladly you don’t have to rely on a monthly plan for recording. You will have to register with tp-link to use it, it is not 100% local.
Impressed
I wasn’t sure how good quality this camera was going to be, but I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been using it for 8 weeks and so far I’m impressed.It’s a very easy set up, and you just have download their app to use it. The video isn’t HD or anything, but you can clearly see everhthing. I can see when the dog walker comes in which is a huge bonus. The video has sound and you can talk to your pet through the video if you choose. The camera moves around via the app and has a 360° view. The app will also notify you if there’s motion detected.For $5/month (sometimes cheaper when they have promos) you can get a package where the video records every time there’s movement. So if you don’t get a chance to see the live video, you have the option of viewing the recording later. I think this is definitely worth the monthly fee.All in all, Tapo is a very decent pet camera and I would be happy to recommend it to any friends!
Great value and easy to use
Bought this as a doggy cam when we adopted our new dog a few months ago. It was easy to set up and install. The app makes it pretty simple to use. I like that it can tilt and rotate. It also allows us to speak to our dogs through the camera if they are being noisy. The video quality is really good. A lot of other cool features are included that we havenât used much yet.Overall a great quality camera for a great price.
Wayyyyy better than the Ring Doorbell!
This doorbell camera is amazing. It has an incredibly large field of view and the video quality is excellent (better than my previous Ring Doorbell). The best part, there’s no need for a subscription (although this is optional of you’d like cloud storage). It allows for 24/7 continuous recording if you insert your own micro SD card in the back, or you can schedules times when it will record continuously and set other times where it only records during motion.It also has the ability to use colour night vision or infrared black and white night vision. The other great thing is that you can make the led turn on bright white when someone triggers motion (almost like a mini flood light). This can act as a deterrent for porch pirates as they will see the led light up and it may bring their attention to the camera.You also have the option to set the doorbell to call you via the app when someone presses the button or set it to a banner notification instead. And the included chime is very loud for such a small device and has different ring tones and volume control. It works very well , and is actually louder than my home’s original doorbell.If you’re looking for a great camera with a field of view that literally shows you the floor mat (yes it’s that’s wide!) and will not break the bank, this is it!
Great little home security camera. Pictures and videos are excellent. Easy to setup. App is pretty good. Object/motion detection is decent.One quibble – when camera is patrol mode motion/object detection, is turned off. Patrolling stops after a couple sweeps. This makes patrolling not very useful except on an ad hoc basis.Night videos are surprisingly good.I have not tested voice integration or cloud storage.. I’ll update the review if/when I test these.

La visión nocturna funciona perfectamente, y los detalles se mantienen visibles incluso en condiciones de poca luz. Además, tiene todas las funciones necesarias para vigilar el hogar, como detección de movimiento, audio bidireccional y la posibilidad de visualizar las imágenes en tiempo real desde mi móvil. Es fácil de configurar y la integración con la app es muy intuitiva. Definitivamente, una opción de gran calidad para mantener mi hogar seguro. ¡Muy recomendable!
Me gustó mucho la cámara, en general es bastante buena por su precio y muy fácil de configurar con la app para el celular. También tiene muy buena resolución.
I hate paying subscription services and I was looking for a doorbell that would give me a decent feature set without having to pay a monthly fee. The Tapo wired doorbell fit my need perfectly! My house wasn’t previously wired for a doorbell so I had to run bell wire and install a transformer but after I finally got it setup I was amazed at the quality.The Camera has a great high def picture and works fantastically in the dark. I have mine recording to a local SD card and have been impressed with the responsiveness. The app is a pleasure to use and allowed me to setup zones to avoid getting notices whenever cars drive down the road. The included AI processing works well and does a decent job of identifying people, packages, or motion. whenever someone rings my doorbell I now hear the included chime, and receive notifications on my alexa and google home devices.I would greatly recommend the TAPO doorbell but make sure you get an endurance rated SD card for local storage.
