Reviews

  1. Great quality for the price
I have 5 fish tanks and needed 4 of these. Great little thermometers

  2. Happy
I use to monitor temp. in swimming pool. Attach fishing weight to sensor so it will sink. Much more accurate than a mercury floating pool thermometer. Have extras in case of failure in the future.

  3. Cheap and good
Nice to get four in a package I have one in an aquarium and the other three are used in refrigerator and freezer quite accurate too

  4. Incredibly inaccurate
Four thermometers. Four vastly different readings. I used water at 65 degrees F. I used an exceptionally accurate thermocouple to measure the water temp. The four thermometers measured, 59.2, 60.0, 61.4, and 62.1. Completely useless for my application. They are a sub-standard chinese product with Vivosun branding printed on them. This design is widely available from many different merchants – each with their own branding. They are renowned for being inaccurate. I should have researched them more carefully. Despite some positive reviews, you should save your money. Avoid them.

  5. Parfait
Beau, bon, pas cher et fonctionne bien.

  6. Dose the job.
For the price, it’s a good buy. We are currently only using two, one works great the other you have to apply pressure to see the numbers properly.

  7. A good buy .
    All ok .

  8. So easy
Once the battery is activated you can’t turn it off. I use as a backup for temperature control

  9. I’ve bought these 5 times because of the price. Plus, there are so many sellers of similar products, with similar ratings, so it’s hard to know who really has the best product. So I just deal with it as below. Overall, I am currently using many of these in my aquarium room with 19 tanks.Laying these out at room temperature, majority of them had the same temp. One was +5 degrees and one was -3 degrees, with others ranging in between, as compared to the majority at 70 degrees. Not sure if there is a way to recalibrate. So I use a fluorescent marker and put the temp adjustment on that thermometer.Majority of the suction cups don’t stay stuck to either the inside or outside of the aquarium glass. On the outside, I’ve used just a dab of silicone to hold in place. For the inside, I’m not as worried about it sticking, as long as it’s in the water close to flow and not close to the heaters. I don’t use silicone on the inside because I want to be able to clean the glass quickly and easily. As for being able to read, as long as I’m looking directly from the front at them and the room is well lit, they are easy to read. But if I’m at an angle or I don’t have the room light on (just the aquarium lights) then no quite so easy. I like that I can toggle between degrees F and C if I want to, not that I need to very often. More out of curiosity when I first got them.I’ve had to replace the batteries in a few of these right after I got them. But other than that, I really like using these and having them for my aquarium room.

  10. Like that I am getting the correct temp reading. I compared it to another thermometer.

  11. I got the four-pack so I could put them in an air filter around 4 ITBs and assess the actual air temps coming in. Works great for this.

  12. I like that it can be used for the aquarium to properly maintain it.

  13. I am not into product reviews, but you should definitely save your 15 bucks here. The probes are very inaccurate and unreliable thus it has the potential to cause you more headache than actually being helpful. I started using these and all read 77.2 F on my tanks. Somewhat strange but no big deal as my tanks are all set to 78 F. I can live with that. As of this review, my 55G reads 75.2F, my 75G reads 76.8F, my 10G reads 61.3 and my 40G I removed after it read 65F which was the trigger for me to check all the others. The tank in the pictures is the 10G Guppy Fry tank which you can see was 68.2 on June 5 but now is 61.3 on June 19. You can also see in the picture, that the probe is in the middle of the tank and out of the direct path of any water flow. In addition to it being wildly inaccurate, the suction cups are terrible. Most aquarium suction cups are pretty bad, but these were especially bad. I bought this four-pack and a single pack. The first week, one of the suctions came undone and splattered the unit all over the floor. Needless to say, it too is inaccurate, but I did not include that given its meeting with the floor. That prompted me to place double-sided tape on the unit to make sure the others didn’t follow. Inside the tanks, none of the suctions are functioning in the least.Bottom line, you are better off with the $3 stick-to-the-glass sticker thermometers. These will cause you to panic and think you have a heater malfunction. Trust me…I lived that panic…it was water change day on the 40G 😐
