Great monitor
The battery life on the monitor sucks but both the camera and monitor have cords so I leave them plugged in and use the app on my phone to remotely watch I love how you can zoom in x5 more on the phone app than the actual monitor and Pam the camera around I use this for my dogs when I put them in their crates or I leave them alone it has great 1080p daytime and clear night mode I can see everything thatâs going on sound isnât the greatest I find the camera has to be pointing at the sound or it wonât pick it up clearly (but cryâs it will get) the speakers on the monitor are not the loudest also there is a few second time delay between picture and audio other than that itâs an amazing unit like I mentioned I use it to check on my dogs while Iâm out I can see their temp do I know they arenât overheating and make sure they are okay (the other day this came in handy as I was 2 hours away and I saw one of the dogs got out of their crate and started vomiting the other started peeing and freaking out so I was able to get a friend over and thanked them out)Iâd strongly recommend this for anyone who needs to keep an eye on something you have the ability to add more cameras to the app as well
Worth it
Been using for 9 months. Overall excellent, no failures of any kind. Color indicator is a small bar on screen instead of LED on the side like previous models, I preferred the LED but that minor. Battery is starting to fade a little, as expected with something that gets used every day. WiFi, speaker, camera, viewer functions all excellent. Would buy again.
Wont work past 1 year
Reviewing this product after 18 months. Donot buy if you want to sleep peacefully It keeps disconnecting even If I am just a wall apart from camera. I bought a wifi amplifier and it’s right next to the camera and baby monitor keeps showing that “camera not found”. I called vtech to get some technical support and they said I am way past their so called 6 month warranty and they can’t give me a replacement as they suspect there might be something wrong with my camera,so I have to spend another $$$ to buy a replacement camera. I would not spend $200 on an electronic that won’t even last for 2 years. I bought a $50 Chinese brand baby monitor which works without wifi and it might not have great features but serves the purpose and never gave me issues.
Good but the sound could be better
The sound is very low, I can barely hear the baby crying. The charger is a downside too, it is a different plug than the previous ones. But in general is a good camera.
Second times the charm
It works pretty good. The first time that I got it the screen went all wonky occasionally, but they were able to replace it for me and the new one works and I haven’t had any issues thus far. I really like that it doesn’t show every single sound it only turns on if he gets loud enough to activate it. Because they like to make noise between sleep cycles when they’re starting to settle themselves so it’s nice that it doesn’t wake me up for that. The battery life is okay not great just okay. I would just turn it off when they’re not napping and have it plugged in at night.
Overall decent but loses connection every night and wakes you up with an alarm because of it
Pros:-This monitor has a nice big screen with decent picture quality; goes blurry the odd time but pretty clear for the most part.-You can turn off the screen so itâs just sound until you hear a noise which I like to use during the night.-You can change the brightness on the screen.-There are sounds you can use on the monitor for the baby, although there is only one setting or how loud and itâs pretty quiet for the babyâs end and you can hear it quite well on the monitors end.-It is clear enough that you can see little movements.Cons:-** As other reviews stated, this monitor loses connection to the screen monitor frequently. I am in the room directly beside the monitor and it will still lose connection about once per night, waking you up with a blasting beep that startles you out of sleep. This is by far the biggest downfall that is having me consider returning it. I do really like this monitor aside from this issue.-There is a bit of a delay(by a few seconds) which doesnât really make a difference but is a bit annoying if you can actually hear the baby through the wall as well as on the monitor.-The battery life is definitely not as long as it claims if it not plugged in, but isnât an issue because it lasts for naps and then I just plus the monitor in beside the bed for overnights.
Night vision and picture quality is outstanding!
One of the best perks about this camera is that both day and night, the picture quality is clear and never grainy or dull. The tiniest details are seen with true clarity. The camera provides full coverage with the pan and tilt feature so you can comfortably zoom in without experiencing any blurry image. The overall experience has been excellent as itâs a very reliable baby monitor. The soothing sounds and lullabies are great add-on features but the reason this is home run for me is because I can connect the camera with the App and remotely check in when Iâm out running errands. Set-up was super easy and for added security the camera only pairs with the App if you are connected to a secure WiFi network. So if you are worried about hackers, rest assured that is not a worry!
Easy installation, was hard to connect to the WiFi and would buffer a lot. Picture quality is great and the settings are super easy to adjust for different views throughout the night.
Me parece un excelente producto. Es nÃtida la imagen y el sonido es claro. Lo mejor es que desde donde esté (mi oficina) puedo ver a través del celular a mi bebé mientras está en casa. La única debilidad es la baterÃa, pero nada extraordinario, se puede mantener conectado, y cuando realmente sea necesario desconectarlo. Gran producto.
Really not worth it and drops connection all the time and you can’t use it whilst travelling
0 level of support in UAE. They have a affiliated support company but that company has no office in Dubai. Just a virtual companyâ¦Worst support experience. Every time you contact vtech support they will throw some links at you.What a pathetic mistake by buying it.I bought this VTech camera on 9th Jan 2023. Used it without any issue until now. Parent unit keeps disconnecting from the baby unit.Tested it thoroughly to make sure itâs not due to network or distance.Tested as,1. Off wifi. Even in the same room parent unit disconnected from the parent unit and Parent unitâs green indicator turned orange.2. Tested on wifi (router in the same room) with both parent and baby unit in same room, still connection dropped.This keeps happening every 3-5 minutes and every-time I have to restart the baby unit. Itâs so frustrating to invest good amount but face critical issues so soon.As device is still under warranty, I have contacted seller regarding this issue resolution.Hopefully I hear back soon.
This was clearly a product that had been returned, poorly repackaged and send back out. Returned for a refund.
