The term “wound cover” seems accurate. This is not a dressing, but a cover, to keep moisture, dirt, and germs away from the sensitive area. I think that I would discuss these covers with my doctor before using them over surgery cuts, or serious wounds. But, they will definitely keep contaminants away from any absorptive dressings beneath them. Removal could be a challenge with especially sensitive areas.
