Easy usage and connection
Been using this a few months so far and everything is still functioning with no issues. Connecting the three different thermometers was easy. Batteries are still holding and have not had to change them since first installation. All three thermometers (after doing a few tests) all seem to be registering the correct temperature. Very helpful for putting in different areas of the home (outdoor, garage, basement) for monitoring for variances or issues. Range of thermostat to base was very long and was able to place fairly far from the base unit and still get readings.

I purchased this in September 2024 to monitor freezer temperatures in our bottom drawer freezer (kitchen fridge), side by side fridge / freezer (basement) and upright freezer (basement).I tested all three outdoor sendors by placing them all, together with an outdoor sensor from another thermometer, into each freezer compartment for about 30 minutes until all readings stabilized. 2 of the UNNI sensors was within 1F of the control sensor, the third was less than 2F difference. Perfectly acceptable tolerances for my purpose.I like that you can set high/low targets for alerts for each sensor and you can also quickly see the high & low temperatue in each location over the last 24 hours. I would have appreciated having an option to reset the memory on demand rather than having the automatic 24 hour reset. Not a biggie though.The look & feel of the display unit is very nice and the quality seems to be very good.I did not want a wire from the display to a power outlet and, as the only purpose of doing so appears to be to keep the backlight turned on, did not connect it. Most of the time the display is perfectly readable without a backlight and when needed a simple touch of the case turns the light on for about 10 seconds.I do have a minor concern that the high/low memory occasionally shows an apparantly spurious/impossible reading so I will keep an eye on that for a while. For that reason I am giving this a solid 4* rating rather than 5* rating but I do recommend this item.

solid product for monitoring unheated porch, greenhouse and chicken coop temps. perfect for a homesteader who needs to see humidity and temp. has indoor room temp and humidity as well. pretty easy to set up. would be nice if you could connect to your phone so that you can monitor while away but it’s very affordable so I understand not including that feature.

for me, all the sensors read accurate when placed next to each other. I’ve only used for 6 days, but everything is working as expected. I should have got this years ago

This is an inexpensive weather station, so I set my expectations accordingly, but after having a chance to use it, it’s a pretty decent value for the price. Everything seems well built and feels solid. The display is clear, intuitive, and it’s easy to read all four temperatures from a distance. It also has some nice features, like the ability to set alarms based on temperature or humidity. It can be powered by three AAA batteries, or by an included USB cable. One small issue here: there’s no USB power supply included. Not a big deal if you’re like me and have a collected a bunch from the days when every new phone came with one, but worth considering if you’re planning on powering it that way.Somewhat more annoying is the screen space taken up by the “comfort indicator.” Each of the four temperatures on the display has a small icon that shows a neutral face if humidity is below 40%, a happy face from 40-70%, and a sad face above 70%. I live in a dry area, and I generally prefer low humidity, so I’ll probably be seeing a lot of that neutral face, even on pleasant days. Being able to customize the 40% and 70% cutoffs would have made this feature more helpful.The sensors take two AA batteries each, and are designed so they can be hung from a string, a hook, a nail, or adhesive strips. They’re labeled with a default channel, but a three-position switch in the battery compartment allows changing the channel they transmit on, if desired. There’s also a button there that allows you to transmit data instantly, rather than waiting up to 33 seconds for a scheduled update. I imagine this would be helpful in trying to position sensors or verify if batteries are good. The range seems decent; all three sensors communicate with the display no matter where they are in my home, even with several walls in between, always showing full bars on the display. The reported temperature and humidity values seem reasonably accurate, and agree well with each other, as well as with other humidity/temperature sensors I have. The sensors update at a pretty decent clip: they transmit every 31 seconds on channel 1, every 32 seconds on channel 2, and every 33 seconds on channel 3.I was also pleased to learn that the sensors are readily decoded by rtl_433. They transmit around 434 MHz, and are decoded as Oregon-THGR810 sensors. This makes it possible to log the sensor data, create a second display unit, monitor temperature remotely, or even tie things in with home automation. Interestingly, while the sensors will happily report a humidity level below 20%, the display won’t: it is currently displaying 20% for all three of my sensors, which are reporting 12%, 18%, and 18% in rtl_433. These sensors are likely not accurate below 20%, hence the limit, but it’s nice to be able to look at the raw data. I plan to use one to monitor a dry box for 3D printing filament, so it’s handy to be able to at least see humidity trends, even if the number itself may not be on the nose.

Bought this set, (base with 3 sensors) a few months ago. Setup and pairing was a no-brainer. Once completed, I initially placed the base and sensors together right next to my home thermostat for the first day to check performance. I was really impressed, surprised even, by how accurate and consistent the readings were across all devices. Humidity readings were within 2% of each other, and temp readings within 0.4 degrees. I use the included USB cable for the base’s power, and batteries just for the remote sensors. If I think of it, I may pop in later to report how long the batteries last, but for now it’s at least +3 months with Duracells.As of Dec. ‘24, price/performance/function is excellent. The only “con” I’ve observed is the base’s display backlighting. It has hi/low/off settings, but the display is too dark, virtually unreadable in the off position, even in daytime, but the low setting is sufficient for both day/night visibility. Not an issue if running on USB power, but may be a draining issue for those using batteries to power their base unit.I was impressed enough that I just ordered another identical set to monitor my garage, attics and crawl space too, and thought I’d drop a quick review in the process.
