Love the wide mouth
I got these jars primarily because the opening is so big, you can pretty much stick your whole face in there (but probably shouldn’t). It’s definitely big enough for a large scoop, or even for a hand. It’s also large enough for a cat’s entire head, so you probably want to avoid keeping kitty treats in there.The jars are solid glass, so they are quite hefty and won’t be tipped over by any less than an extremely persistent cat. It’s also pretty sturdy glass, and although it’s impossible to tell until the inevitable happens, it feels like the kind of glass that won’t shatter too easily. Probably best to keep it in a carpeted part of the house. The lids are nice and tight, so even if (when?) the cat does tip the jar over, it won’t just snap open willy-nilly.Plus the jars look really nice: a sort of classic look with a modern touch, and the glass is smooth and not pitted. I love their shape, and it’s super useful to have the measurements right on the sides.
