Stuffed toy

I have a stuffed tiger I bought about two decades ago for myself after the loss of one of my cats. My four year old niece loves playing with the tiger, but lately, she started playing too roughly with it. I decided to purchase a replacement for the tiger, and this one is the closest in look to my tiger I could find. Unfortunately for me, the tiger is noticeably smaller than the tiger I have, so pretending the new tiger is the old one was out of the question. What I did was to hide my tiger, make up a story that Tiger is on a world tour, but that his baby cousin had arrived and needed someone to look after her. I handed the new tiger to my niece, who promptly began hugging it and carrying it around with her, naming her new friend “Tammy”. She hasn’t asked after “Tiger” ever since, making Auntie very happy.
