I had a pile of gloves in my workshop. I used these Mitten Clips to help organize them. The picture (with the clips) has 11 pairs of gloves, on 6 clips, hanging out of my way. Most gloves are thin enough at the cuff so that I can clip a pair of gloves together on one clip and another pair of gloves on the other side of the mitten clip. One pair in the picture was thick so it has one glove on each side. So, I ended up using these for something other than their intended purpose, but it worked out great. I keep thick, fabric cushion covers over the tops of my couch seat cushions to protect the couch from spills/stains. Despite having a rubberized, grippy underside, they tend to slide out of place every couple of weeks, and I have to pull the cushions and re-tuck all of the covers. I was sick of doing this, so I thought of using these mitten clips as a solution.I laid the covers face-down on the floor with the cushions on top of them, and folded the excess material of the covers back over the cushions, which left about a 8-inch gap in the middle. I used the longest mitten clips to traverse the cushions laterally, clipping each end to the sides of the covers, and then clipped one end of the short clips to the cover and the other end to the lateral clip. I may not have explained this well, so I’ve attached a diagram to illustrate what I mean.Anyway, all of this is to say that it has worked great so far, and the clips seem super strong. There’s two layers to the clamp, with the interior layer having little teeth that grab onto the material you’re clamping down on — much more secure than just a single-layer alligator clamp.So, whether you’re actually just trying to secure your mittens to your coat (they won’t be going anywhere), or you’ve got a different plan for them, they are going to stand up well to the task.
