Full function RC robot thatâs fun and cute! Make for a good gift.
This cute little RC robot is actual pretty decent and will keep younger kid entertained and busy. The little robot is a full function RC, so you it can move in all directions. You can change the colors of its eyes, mute it, or play the 3 built in songs, all done remotely through the controller. The 3 songs however, are just short, probably 30 second snippets, that loop. The only one I recognized was dashing through the snow. The others 2 may be Christmas themed too but again, I donât really recognize them. The speaker on the robot is obviously not going to be the best for a toy. Itâs as you would expect, just clear enough and tolerable. Aside from that, one neat thing about this robot is that it makes a lot of little random beep and boop sounds that are very much Star Wars inspired. Those little robot sound make it sound alive and are always fun and uplifting for kids so, thatâs definitely a plus.This little RC robot might look like it runs on tracks but unfortunately, those are just for show. The robot actually runs on small rubber wheels on the bottom, and due to the small size of the wheels unfortunately, it doesnât run that great on carpets (depending on the type of courseâ¦plush ones are a definitely no). Also, because of the smaller wheel and slower speed, it has a lot of trouble climbing or going over small transitions and bumps. This RC robots is really best suited for hard flat surfaces.The RC robots arms and ears/antenna are not motorized, so they canât be remotely controlled or move by themselves but, they can be manually articulated. Itâs not much but, still something for the kids to move and play with.The RC robot has a built in battery so, it can easily be recharged but unfortunately, the remote controller is battery operated (2AA, which it does come with).Its build quality is decent overall but, at the same time it is a toy so, there is a lot of light plastic parts, that probably canât handle excessive drops or abuse.Itâs still a great RC robot though, and makes for fun gift for younger children. The price point is also reasonable when compared to competitors. As an example, I had purchased a Star Wars BB-8 RC a few years back at twice the the price of this one and all it did was make sounds and move. It didnât light up or play songs, nor was it rechargeable. It was larger and also plastic but, less durable. One thing that I do feel would have offered a better value for this RC, would have been if the controller was also rechargeable instead of being powered by alkaline batteries. Its not a deal breaker but, it could have been included at this price point.
Burnt cord
The toy itself is great, unfortunately the cord ended up burning the whole usbc port off. Thankfully we smelled it before it burned our whole house down.
