I like that the sides stay standing up and don’t collapse or flop over. However, the shape of the sides is wonky – it’s not circular because of the odd shape from being folded.The neutral colors are very versatile, and because of this I could use this is many rooms. At the moment I have decided to use it to corral throw pillows and blankets in our family room. Update – now the shape is improving. I’m not sure if it’s because the bends from being folded just naturally relaxed, or whether it’s because I’ve had it stuffed full of pillows which maintained the basket’s shape.As you can see in the two close up photos there were some deficits in the weave. Fortunately I am able to face that portion of the basket against the wall.
I got this to store items in for my living room. The only plus side to this was that it is huge. Other than that it is very flimsy and keeps falling over. In my opinion not worth the price. I feel like I wasted money on this item,
The quality of this basket was a lot better than I was expecting and worked out great for my son to use it as a clothes hamper.
First or all, this is a very nice, sturdy, attractive, and well made rope basket. I have others, but whereas they have never returned to their original, proper shape, this one was fairly easy to recover it shape.These baskets always seem to come folded up, and so have prominent folds and creases when they arrive. There are various tricks and advice about how to restore their shape, mostly through stuffing it as full as possible.My guess is that the folds that last the longest, and that are the toughest to get rid of, are the folds that have stayed folded for the longest. So, a basket that was sitting in a box folded up for months will take longer to recover than a basket that was folded the same day that it was shipped. My guess is that my basket was folded for only a few days before I received it, so the creases were easier to remove.If you are not familiar with these cotton rope baskets, they are soft and pliable, but rather heavyish.Mine is now home to a few comforters that we are done using for awhile. For some reason, these baskets always tend to get piled high with throw blankets this time of year. But it is always nice to have an attractive basket on hand piled high with cozy blankets.
