Discover why My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow is the #1 breastfeeding support pillow with professional Lactation Consultants. It is the only pillow that stays securely in place and does not shift or slide like crescent shaped nursing pillows. The wrap-around design secures the pillow to the body, helping mom and baby maintain ideal positioning for latch-on while preventing back and neck pain. The arm and elbow rests eliminate shoulder stress and there is even a convenient pocket for nursing supplies and other accessories. The firm, flat-front cushion and adjustable, silent-release strap eliminate any gap between you and your baby. This keeps your baby from rolling in or away during breastfeeding. Purchase includes pillow insert and one slipcover. Extra slipcovers are available from Amazon in many colors and designs.

Very helpful!
For breastfeeding this pillow has been a life changer! Before purchasing this I was using multiple pillows, or Ikea shaped breast feeding pillow which did not fit around me and was too firm for baby. I was shifting my baby around too much and baby was cranky and couldn’t lie down comfortably to feed. This fits around me well, baby is much less irritable, feeds well, able to lie down comfortably, I like that this has a buckle, the cover can be removed and washed. I also like the little pocket to hold something I need. The cost is slightly on the expensive side but for the comfort and convenience of feeding baby – it seems to be worth it in the two days and nights (especially) that I have used it.My newborn rolls so that is the only thing I would advise parents is that if you are not supporting baby well, they can roll off of this and fall.
The best nursing pillow
I love, love this nursing pillow! Love that it can be attached around the waist. Baby will sleep on it while nursing when he was few weeks old and he could sleep for 45 min-1hr on it. That is how comfortable it was for baby.Pro tip: When nursing, I placed a normal pillow under the nursing pillow to âelevateâ it higher when baby was less than 3-4 months as it was a little bit too low for me and I had to bend forward which was uncomfortable.
Feeding made easier
My wife loves this thing as it helps support our baby when feeding. It has some indentation for the baby however it doesn’t seem to align properly, hence 4 stars. It is still really good as it elevates the baby a little higher so you don’t get too tired, holding/carrying your baby as they grow bigger and heavier.
Better than expected.
I didnât think a nursing pillow was a necessary product when having a newborn but I am so glad I bought it. It makes feeding the baby a million times easier. The pillow is firm and lightweight. The strap is good quality and also huge so it goes around your belly easily even if youâre a big person. The pillow has to raised areas that serve as both pillows for the babyâs head and for you to prop your hand or arm if needed. The cover is super easy to take off, wash and put back on. The little pocket on the front is useful to hold soothers or bibs and light items like that, but I wouldnât recommend holding your phone in it as phones are heavy and pull down the pillow.
The most amazing breastfeeding pillow
I used to use the bopppy.. When I read the reviews for this I decided to give it a try. I found it 100 times better. Doesn’t slip, amazing back support, and it’s nice and firm. 10/10 would recommend.
Great for Mama’s with long torsos
I struggled to breastfeed with my little one, not the least because I have quite the long torso and I couldn’t really rest by newborn closer to my lap and have her reach the nipple without hunching over. I had also had a c section so too much pressure in that area wasn’t great. This was a life saver. It brought my little one closer to the nipple, and with it pulled tight enough, took all the pressure off my lower abdomen. She’s now 3 months and has outgrown it (she’s a long baby) but I don’t think I would have been successful at breastfeeding without this. It’s also great for resting your arms on if your little one likes a lot of contact naps
Not good for football hold, and cushion is too thin and not thick enough
Pros:-flatter top than traditional pillow cushions, so my baby does not roll as much nor slowly rolls into me while feeding.- sturdy and flat is good for cross/cradle holds- pocket in front is handy for small items to keep closeby like a cell phone.- padding in the back is good back/lumbar support-foam cushion firmer than pillow cushions-more affordable than other styles from this brand (appears to be exact same specifications)- you can walk around with it if needed and it probably won’t fall down when clipped on. (without baby of course)Cons:- The thickness/height of the cushion is only 11cm or 4.25 inches! That is incredibly thin and is definitely not thick enough to bring a newborn up to the boob to feed! I am 5’6″ and needed additional couch cushions underneath to prop it up higher. This plus positioning and clipping it while holding a crying baby makes for additional work and highly annoying. Seems like this was made for short torsos or an older infant/toddler.- Not good for football hold and clearly the design did not consider this hold. The fit around the waist is oblong, not circular, when clasp is done up, so this is really ineffective and uncomfortable for me when I do football hold to feed. Rotating sideways also renders the backrest useless.- I’m thin build, and it fits with some room to spare if I ever gain weight. But I don’t see that there is enough room for any waist of plus size.- There are two circular raised foam areas near both sides of the top of cushion. Not clear what these are for. If these are the arm/elbow rests that is in the description, the raised areas are way too close to centre and not even close to elbows, maybe a forearm rest? If they are for the baby’s head comfort, perhaps they’re useful, but I didn’t find it helped for me as the cushion was short to begin with anyway, and these bumps caused baby to roll a little.- They call the strap “silent release”. I found this to be opposite; everytime, it would startle baby, or wake him if he fell asleep… it’s a plastic buckle that is pretty loud, unless you do it slowly and hold with your hand to release.Have not washed the cover yet, so cannot comment. Also, with other reviews, this is foam and probably not easy to clean in case messes get in/on the foam.Overall, there are good points on this; mainly so that the baby doesn’t roll because it’s flat, and the back rest attached. Otherwise, I would not purchase again, unless it was made with thicker padding to accommodate the torso length (perhaps if made like those cushioned lap desks), and if it could accommodate a football hold properly. It’s a lot of work to get comfortable/positioned to feed and sometimes I go back to the regular feeding cushion for speediness.
Love this pillow! 2nd time mom
The greatest breastfeeding pillow there is! Had one for my first born and accidentally left it on a plane and it was never found by the airline. Now 1 week postpartum with my second and I had to buy another one, and what a relief!! These are a godsend, the flatness of the pillow top is key and makes breastfeeding so easy.A friend gave me her baby buddy pillow, which is more expensive than then breastfriend and I couldnât stand using it for even a full week.Yes you have to put baby down to get pillow around you, but thatâs such a small inconvenience given the benefits of the pillow. Highly recommend it!
I love this nursing pillow! It is so comfortable and supportive for both me and my baby. It wraps around my waist and stays in place with the adjustable straps. It has a handy side pocket where I can keep my phone, water bottle, or nursing pads. The cover is removable and washable, and the fabric is soft and breathable. The pillow is firm and flat, which helps my baby stay awake and latch well. It also helps me maintain a good posture and avoid back and neck pain. I have tried other nursing pillows, but this one is by far the best. It is a must-have for any breastfeeding mom. I highly recommend it!
I hesitated to purchase this breastfeeding pillow due to the priceâ¦6 weeks into having my son I wish Iâd bought it sooner! My newborn is very wiggly and also quite long for his age so it made breastfeeding and finding the right position a constant battle – usually ending up with him in tears and me too. I tried the boppy and using standard pillows around the house, but nothing worked. This pillow allows him to feed comfortably and also lets me multitask (even eating!) while we are sat on the sofa. If you are debating buying it, itâs worth the investment.
The foam of the pillow fell to pieces when washed by hand. It is flimsy. My wife complained to Amazon / the seller but never heard back. Itâs extremely expensive for something so flimsy. Donât waste your money like we did.UPDATE: contacted seller, who promised to resolve our problem but of course they didn’t. Fraudulent seller.!
3 Year and Second Baby Update!!:We just had our second born 6 weeks ago and I came back to update this review because I feel that strongly about this pillow. Everything I wrote before still holds true. We are using the exact same pillow that we purchased for our first. It is a little softer but still so much more firm than any other pillow weâve ever used, the back piece hasnât kept its perfect shape, but thatâs to be expected considering I used it so many times daily for an entire year of feeding my first. Once again I feel like it has saved my breastfeeding journey. If someone asked me, this pillow would hands down be the number one item I recommended someone place on their baby registry. Our son was born with a seriously horrible latch. I was gifted several Boppy pillows at our baby shower. Upon coming home from the hospital I was excited to try them out and see if they aided in positioning and thus his latch. A week of trying to manage those flimsy pillows and both baby and I were FRUSTRATED. I would use two at once, use one with additional pillows on either side, use one with a towel rolled under his head, etc. Baby was uncomfortable from sliding around and constantly being repositioned while trying eat and my nipples were taking a beating from a bad latch made worse by inadequate positioning. A lactation consultant suggested trying the Breast Friend pillow and it immediately changed our breast feeding journey. It didnât completely solve the latch issues that we were having, but it made both of us comfortable enough that we could easily work through them. The best parts of this pillow include:1. It attaches to you so you can get situated and prepped and then pick up your little one and place them on you. In comparison, the Boppy does not stay in place whatsoever. Often it would slip off of me or slide while I was seated and nursing- causing baby to slide down and tug at the nipples.2. It is also a stiffer foam which helps keep baby right where you put them and decreases fatigue on momâs arms.3. The pocket is a nice added feature as you can keep nipple shields, cream, pads, etc in there for safe keeping.4. The lumbar support really does help keep my lower back comfortable when feeding.Food for thought:1. Our birth was a cesarean and when I first tried this pillow I was 1 week post partum. As to be expected, it was mildly uncomfortable pressing on my abdomen. I suppose you could not tighten the strap as much, but the pillow would not stay on as well. I found that it was mild enough and helpful enough to keep using it.2. I wish that the fabric was coated with a waterproof liner on the inside. Baby has had two blowouts while eating that have discolored the foam pillow.3. It is difficult to get the cover on after washing as some others have commented. Just take your time and be patient. The foam around the back lumbar area acts like it could easily tear if manipulated too harshly.4. The first couple of weeks we exclusively used the football hold. I slid the pillow to be slightly off center to help with this position. Once baby figured out his latch a little better, we switched to cross hold and this pillow became even more comfortable for us.Once Baby gets bigger and has better control of his head and body the Boppy may work better for some. But for right now, we are 5 weeks PP and this pillow continues to be the most used baby item we purchased. While it was pricey for a pillow, I would gladly purchase again for the difference it made in breast feeding.
