These are great!
My kindergarten students absolutely love these building blocks. They are an affordabe and fun alternative to other brand name building toys, are great for younger children as the pieces are good for smaller hands, and they offer some different ways to build with a variety of different 3D shapes and ways to connect them. This set comes with mostly yellow, and some white, black and orange pieces for building different animal figures (I also have a set with multicoloured blocks). This set also comes with some eyes to create different animals, and a nice instruction book which my students do appreciate and will look at for ideas and inspiration. Overall, this is a fun and engaging set of building blocks, that keeps my kindergarten students engaged, using their hands and creativity and developing their fine motor and imaginative play skills. Overall a great set.
Durable and easy to build with, but not always easy to take apart.
My use case is a little different from most people, as I intend to use this greebling (random textural details) for some science fiction dioramas after a few coats of paint. Most of these pieces are great at making industrial-looking structures or the exposed internal scaffolding of damaged space ships, and it’s off-brand enough to not immediately be recognizable as something like Lego would be. That said, in addition to my hobby projects, I did make sure to test it as a building toy first. The plastic is durable, and many (though not all) of the pieces seem like they’d allow airflow through them in the event that a child swallows one. I wouldn’t necessarily let a kid use these completely unsupervised, but you’ll probably need to help them out at some point anyway (more on that later) so you’ll probably be hanging around one way or another. The octagonal connection tabs allow you to build at interesting angles, though because they’re all off-centre on their blocks, it can be a little challenging to make 45 degree connections look good. There is, however, an issue with the tolerances of some of the pieces. In particular, the yellow pieces seem to have more imperfections in their casting which results in burrs and mould lines along a number of edges. These aren’t harmful per se, but they do make it much more difficult to pull pieces apart when the extra bits of plastic around a slot get smushed into by the tab of another block. My first attempt at putting some pieces together was with two yellow angled pieces with both pieces slotting into each other, and I was only able to pry it apart after five minutes of serious effort and some extra lubrication from a bit of rubbing alcohol. If your kid decides to try the same thing, they’re definitely going to need your help to get them separated. The instruction pamphlet is also pretty lacklustre, forgoing more traditional manuals with step-by-step instructions and instead featuring a bunch of sub-assemblies with arrows pointing at where they’d go on the final product. It’s not impossible to guess at the parts that you can’t see, but it’s just not very impressive.Overall, it’s a pretty good toy for quickly making all kinds of structures and low-poly sculptures, and the single connection tab on each block is enough to build out a shape rapidly while also looking clean and satisfying when it’s assembled. Occasionally, you need to get creative when connecting two sub-assemblies together if you didn’t put a lot of thought into how they’re supposed to stick together, but problem-solving is kind of the point of this thing anyway, so I consider it a bonus.
Colourful, can engage a childâs imagination
The box states two different age groups for the toy: Ages 5+ and ânot for children under 3 yearsâ. In terms of imagination and problem solving, the age choice of 5+ would be best but 3 and 4 year could enjoy the challenge as well. The instruction sheet is vague, so children will likely just use their own ideas to create. Some blocks can be difficult to pull apart. I had to use a flat-edged screwdriver to pry the smaller ones apart. Each piece has just one point that joins into another block. The structure of the block means this can interfere with structure plans. Only one point can fit into one corner of a block. This does allow for a child to problem solve as they build. There are 150 pieces (4 eyes!) which allows for a variety of builds.
Fun
Cute toyAll pieces were accounted forSupervision required if under 3 years old. Lots of small pieces that can create shock hazardEasy enough to understand for any childComes in a practical easy to giftwrap box
Great for creativity. Well made and affordable.
Nice little building block set for children, but not recommended for toddlers due to the small parts, at least not without supervision. There are several different possibilities for building, or your child can use their imagination to create something of their own. This is great for sparking their creativity and keeps them from playing video games or electronics all the time. Good, old fashioned fun!
Cool block kit
This block building kit is a different kind of block and easier for younger kids to build vs the smaller Lego like blocks. There were no instructions so it is a DIY as best as you can type kit but it does get easier as you go. Once you and your kids get the hang of it it becomes quite easy to build. My son loves the bigger pieces to hold and loves the bright colors. I would recommend it as a gift to a younger child that enjoys building things and being creative in the design.
Use the instructions or use your imagination!
This kit comes with nice clear instructions that are easy for kids to follow, or the kids can use their imaginations to make whatever they like from the blocks. The pieces fit together nicely – they go together and pull apart well. The pieces are plastic, so they’re easy to sanitize. There are 150 pieces in this kit, so lots of building potential.
Block set
This is a cool set. You can create many creatures or build what you want. They easy click together. Te blocks are easy to handle and pick up. They are different then Lego but you can build what your imagination wants. My son enjoyed these.
The description says for ages 3-5, but in reality the package and actual blocks are really suitable for ages 5+ as parts too small and could be swallowed by young toddlers. For the age 5+ kids these blocks are fairly sturdy and good size for their hands and can be easily handled and made into many interesting projects. My kids use their creativity to make fun animals, castles, trains and all sorts of interesting play scenes they dream up. It keeps them busy and uses their brains while having lots of fun playtime.
The quality of the blocks is good, and the size is just right for the small children in a kindergarteners. They are fairly easy to connect, and the color is bright to make it easier to make the connections. The price is great and Iâm thinking about buying another set!
Christmas gift for my adopted grandson and I know he will love it. Him and his brother like building things so this should give them hours of playtime. The information says up to 5 years old but his brother is 7 and I know he will still enjoy putting them together.
If you don’t want to spend a lot of money to give something as a Christmas present, this building kit is a good idea.Easy to follow instructions, it is suitable for a 4 year old child, perhaps with some supervision. You can create different animals or characters, letting the child’s imagination run wild.Recommended.
