The way my home is setup, I have a huge drop off going from the kitchen to the living room area. From wall to wall, it’s about a 14 feet and this thing reaches!! I have a one year old and it safely keeps her from falling. One issue that I ran into while installing the hooks into the wall, the baseboards stick out further on the bottom while the top is more recessed. I can’t get the bottom and the top to line up. I could go up a bit off the floor but I don’t want my daughter to attempt to crawl underneath and get her head stuck. That’s the only problem that I’m currently running into. Once she gets a bit older, I can easily raise it up and fix this issue. My suggestion to fix this issue is to have a solid bar from top to bottom with cutouts to attach the gate at variable heights for different applications. All in all, this is a really good gate for people with similar applications.
This is a very nice quality retractable gate with very smooth operation. The height is nice and the length is outstanding, it’s actually a little overkill for my application. I have a rather shy and older miniature dachshund so I don’t have to worry too much about her breaching the gate or especially jumping over it lol, but if it’s used in a super wide opening, I could see it being very easy to slip under. I ordered what was available at the time, but I didn’t need 17.6 feet of gate! LOL. I suppose it’s better to have extra instead of too little for future applications. Installation is fairly non-complicated with only 2 brackets and 2 hooks, yet it’s pretty secure and it can be locked to keep it from unwinding further if something were to push against it. The gate can also be lifted off of the wall brackets if you’re only going to use it on a rare occasion. The hooks seem a little bit bulky and stick out from the wall kind of far, but they’re thick and rugged, and they don’t look like they would break easily if bumped into. I’m not sure if all of the retraction mechanisms are exactly the same for all of the versions, I would think they are, but when choosing a longer length, the price increases substantially. The difference in price between the shortest and longest versions is $80 for an additional 140″ of mesh. It is very nice mesh but I thought that was kind of expensive. The quality is still fantastic and they didn’t cut corners. I’m very pleased with it, thank you so much for the great product.
For starters, this is fantastic. I actually got two and use them to block of my driveway when I want as a “poor mans driveway gate” while I’m working and want to let my dogs come out with me more freely. That said, while my own dog hasn’t figured this out yet, I will say that you can reach under toward the middle and just lift the gate up similar to what you would do with one of those “create a line” retractable tape things to make people queue in a line. As a baby gate or to really keep an escape artist of a pet in, that would be a problem. Fortunatley, my use case isn’t as serious as keeping babies from playing in a busy street, and my dog isn’t actually trying to run away. If you have pets or small kids that respect boundaries when they see them, this is good. The one thing that would make it better would be an optional anchor in the middle that could be glued or screwed to the floor if need be, as well as reinforcement slats that are vertical, so as to make it harder to life it up.Again though, those are minor, minor complaints. For me, this is perfect. I just had to knock it a tiny bit for not making the limitations I mentioned more clear of concerns to consider in the description. All in all, it’s excellent and so is its price.
Depending on how wide you go with this small animals can squeeze under it.other than that it’s a great unit that is easy to close and open. The gate isn’t too hard to pull open for anyone.Material is plenty strong enough to keep animals from destroying it.

It is suitable for an inside door or it can be used on the outside opening of the doorway. You can choose the fixed lock or the movable lock depending on where you are installing it. It is made of durable materials.The instruction manual is easy to read and follow. You only need minimal tools to assemble this safety gate. I love that it can be used in a small entryway or up to a 200 inch doorway. It is 42 inches tall which is perfect. All of the hardware is included. If you are using it in a larger doorway, there are floor hooks included to help secure the bottom of the mesh to prevent animals or toddlers from getting under.It is simple to open this safety gate by holding the switch and lifting it up counterclockwise. While the gate is retracting, just be sure to hold the handle. This safety gate is also simple to lock by holding the switch and turning clockwise.
