Reviews

  1. I’m so glad I found these and I’m sure patients are, too.

  2. These are very high quality and can sustain daily usage and not loose any elasticity, easy to put on patients and can be washed.

  3. These are rather confusing to use at first. There are no instructions included at all, and the product page only helped slightly. As packaged, the tourniquet is essentially pulled all the way “tight”, but it makes it look like the tail that is used for tightening should go around the limb. I included some pictures that can hopefully help. The first picture is how they arrive. You can see the clip end has no slack. The second picture shows it unclipped and starting to be pulled open the right way. The quick-release button only works if the clip is pulled very tightly! So if it seems like you can’t unclip it, pull hard and push the button again while maintaining tension. The third picture shows it clipped back in place, with the loop that would be around the limb. The tail would be pulled to tighten. Here are some important safety notes because the manufacturer doesn’t include them!Place the tourniquet 2 inches above the wound, if that spot is an elbow or knee, go 2 inches above the joint (never apply anywhere besides an arm or leg!!).When stopping profuse bleeding, you will need to pull TIGHT! It will hurt, but that is preferable to bleeding out. Write the time the tourniquet was applied on the device if possible, or note it down another way- medical professionals will ask for this time.On that same line- if you are applying a tourniquet, call your emergency line as soon as possible, ad you should NEVER remove a tourniquet, it must be done by medical professional, and there is a time limit on how long a tourniquet can be on and not lose the limb. This is why I really don’t like the quick-release button, as it would be really bad if it got clipped open accidentally.I was worried the band would stretch itself open since there’s no visible stopper (when not on your body, you can easily loosen and tighten the strap without opening it) but once taunt, it does not pull loose and the clip must be used to remove it.Overall, this is a good inexpensive item to keep in your first aid kit, that hopefully you will never need. Since this is a multi pack I have one in each car, 2 in my house, and 2 in my barn.

  4. These are basic and simple enough to use that they might be figured out in an emergency, but it would be nice to include some simple directions and diagrams in the bag since people tend to panic in such situations. Hopefully these will be practiced with before an emergency occurs so they’re familiar to use. These are elastic bands that can be pulled tight around limbs to cut off blood supply to prevent a bleed-out. These will go in our cars and medical kits for emergencies. At a little over a buck a piece these are worth it if they save a life, but I hope I never have to use one.
