Good camera for checking up on back seat
Before electronics became inexpensive enough to produce gadgets like this we had to rely on mirrors to attempt to see what our baby was doing in that back seat. Rear facing car seats were especially challenging. The view was sub-optimal to say the least. Well, technology to the rescue. This is a package that consists of a small display screen, 7 inch in this case, a small camera, a lighter adapter for power and the hardware to mount these components. This is a fully wired system and the wire from the camera needs to reach all the way to the lighter socket. That may be a challenge if you have a large car, SUV or mini-van. It should be fine for most small sedans. The system is powered via a lighter socket. Most cars still have these, but some more modern electric vehicles may not have these. Make sure that you have an available lighter socket. The power adapter has an on off switch and there is also an on / off switch at the back of the screen. The only other controls are brightness up and down.Connecting the parts isn’t very hard, but it would be a little easier if there were alignment marks on the plugs for the camera and screen. The plugs fit snugly so they shouldn’t work their way loose on their own.The picture is pretty clear, not as clear as the simulated photos in the description, but it does the job.The camera has IR lights that come on on their own when the system senses that it is dark outside. There is no control over this.
Well Made – Easy To Use
Okay, so I didnât actually mean to order this 7″ Baby Car CameraâI was aiming for a security cam instead. But since I donât have a baby to use it for, I decided to play around with it anyway. I have to say, this is a well-built and impressive product. The camera works perfectly, and the setup is straightforward. While itâs not what I needed, I can totally see it being an excellent choice for parents wanting to keep an eye on their little one in the car. If youâre actually looking for a baby camera, Iâd give this a 10/10 recommend!
Baby camera for car (Edited Review)
EDIT: I need to edit my review after using this for about a week during the day. The color gets really washed out in certain light and loses features. The night camera is good that you can see the baby, but the day camera quality is a bit grainy. My main complaint is about the wash out of features. I cant sit there and adjust brightness when im driving whenever the sun shines in the back, etc. For that I will lower my rating.I purchased two of these. This one I’ll be using for our larger car. My photo isn’t the best, but the picture was taken when it was dark in the car to show you how it looks at night. Resolution is good. Set up was fast.My only complaint is there are a ton of wires, but I guess the alternative would be taking the stuff off to charge – which is also a hassle. The mount for the monitor is stable and sticks well. The strap for the camera is tight and also very stable.
Easy to use and clear night vision camera!
This baby and pet camera can be installed on the headrest to have easy view or access to the backseat. I have a dash camera in the front already so I had to purchase a 12V extender in order to accommodate both devices. The camera was very easy to set up and has a wide angle with good night vision. It allows me to keep my eyes on the road without having to turn back to the backseat. The only downside to this camera is that there are limited mounting options because the stability of the camera when placed on the dashboard is very poor. It just doesnât stick. I wish the base was wider because the screen is quite large, making it top-heavy. Iâm able to mount the screen to the windshield without any issues but thereâs not a lot of space given the dashcam is also attached to the windshield. Other than the mounting issue, this is a very good quality backseat camera that is easy to use.
After setting my sisters camera up not long ago, being able to nab one myself i was thrilled as they’re so useful. This one has some strange choices that i sadly can only compare it to. Wired were ok for myself and it is very easy to setup, thick wiring with cable ties for management, nice large screen and the camera i guess is adjustable with a good picture. Night is colour but with a washed out look along with the sharp smooth picture its a good device for its job.The problem is, is the fact its straps to the headrest. Others ive setup clip to the metal bar of the headrest and can be offset to more the middle of the car, giving a better show of the wide camera lense and sits out the way. Having it strapped in the middle i found it uncomfortable on the back of my head
Itâs simple to install, but as other have said there are a few wires to put in place. I would have liked the wires to be longer, or for there to be an extension available. Once installed place the picture was fine. At night itâs ok, but not fully detailed. To mount the screen it depends on having a secure point to attach it to. It would be useful to have a mount that fits on the vents (like the phone holders). Obviously with this you donât need sound. I didnât feel that it made a difference to my driving, other than I didnât need to keep turning around or moving the rear view mirror to see what was happening on the back seat. It fit my suv ok. However my niece has a large family and has a 9 seater minivan, which it was limited by the length of cables. Otherwise good.
