This is a review of MOMOBIN Silicone Baby Food Freezer Tray, Made in Korea Momobin silicone containers are excellent (I have a great Momobin silicone steamer too). This freezer tray works well. It closes easily and securely, making it a breeze to move from counter to freezer. Though the tray is a bit flexible, because it is small and the silicone is thick, the tray is also firm enough to move without spillage, especially when the lid is on. Once frozen, the cubes are easy to release by pressing the bottom of each section. You can just remove one cube if you want. The tray sections hold up to 4 tablespoons, though liquids expand when they freeze so you might plan for filling sections with only 3 or 3.5 tablespoons. Each section could be filled with something different because the lid fits so as to keep each section separate. This freezer tray works very well. It has allowed me to throw away my very old plastic covered ice cube trays (yay). Note that only one freezer tray comes in an order. If the price comes down, Iâll get another. The tray is high quality so it is worth the cost if you use small portions . . . but right now Iâll continue to freeze portions, remove them from the tray, then store them in a ziplock or other container in the freezer. That way, I can keep freezing small portions.
I cook a lot, and freeze a lot of what I cook. All of this cooking results in lots of leftovers.I ordered this to freeze bits of leftover stock, tomato paste, diced veggies, leftovers etc. I’ve tried several other brands of silicone freezer trays over the years, but they never quite worked the way I needed them to – this one does.It’s got nice, deep 40 ml divisions that you can fill almost to the top. The lid goes on & off smoothly – unlike all the others I’ve tried. This lid I actually use.Will definitely buy more of this brand when I need more freezer trays.
The item itself is very nice. Sturdy and the lid goes on and comes off easily, but it’s compartments seem too small for one portion to make an entire feeding for an infant/toddler. Looks like it would hold maybe half a baby food jar worth of food. However, it would make great size portions of bone broth, tomato paste, etc. As with all silicone products, it’s a dust and hair magnet, but what can ya do?
I don’t know why people are confused when they only receive one tray and leaving bad reviews – it clearly states under the technical details that only “one unit” comes per order. That being said, I received exactly what I expected which is one tray. I like the dusty rose color.The cube sized are much larger than normal ice cube size which is great! Freezing prep items like chopped veggies, soup starters, sauce concentrates, etc. is the perfect use case for someone that isn’t using this for baby food preparations.Overall, I would recommend and am considering a second one!
This is almost perfect for freezing large cubes of almost anything. I’ve used it for plain ice cubes and homemade tomato sauce so far.As other reviewers have noted, read the description carefully. The pictures show (and description implies) two units but you only get one. It’s still a great product but this should be corrected.I’ve run the tray through the dishwasher a few times and it hasn’t picked up any soapy smell so far. I hope it continues this way.Popping the cubes out is incredibly easy because the walls are thick but the floor is thin enough to push the cubes’ bottom and slide out of the tray. I’ve used badly designed trays where it was impossible to get the cubes out but this isn’t one of them.The lid is sturdy and stays on with just enough tension to stay in place. But it is still easy to remove even when a little ice fuses the base and lid.It’s just a simple ice cube tray but you can tell a lot thought went into the design. I have a deep appreciation for properly made, simple, products.Final Verdict: Very approved (but they need to fix the listing)
