I set this up in my elderly moms room, as I live in Canada and she live in Jamaica so I can view her and talk to her it Works well, easy to set up, clear view.
Totally worth it
I was using the app with 3 old cellphones for two years already and was very happy with it. I wanted to experience the camera because it’s more convenient and easier to mount. I’m not desapointed at all!! The image is better, there’s more options and the camera is beautiful and easy to pair in the app. I will buy a second one for sure!
Really good quality and easy to set up
I purchased one of these after using the app with old phones to watch our cats when we are away. We decided to set up a permanent camera by their food bowls to monitor their eating habits. I got this on sale during Black Friday, and I’m very impressed with the quality, the night vision is much better than it was with our phones, no need to leave a light on anymore. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade!

After an hours long break in this summer that Alfred failed to alert me of, losing thousands worth of posessions, I should have known better. When excuses, not accountability were offered, I was irritated. But still wanted to try again. Ordered their cameras, hoping to eliminate excuses, and comments that “cell phones are inadequate for camera purposes”, when that has been the their sole offering previously. Refused to connect after many attempts. Will be returned as they’re unusable.
About time Alfred did their own camera
I’ve used the Alfred camera system for many years but it was impossible to keep android phones running for any length of time. I used all the advice available, “don’t kill my app” utilities, turn off power saving, turn off notifications etc. They always died. I was ready to give up on Alfred.This camera seems to solve all of the phone problems. Easy to connect, stable and a great picture.
Beware the wifi connection only available 2.4ghz
If you have the possibility to tweak your wifi router to enable 2.4ghz band this is the only one the camera can use also dont forget to buy micro sd card for recordings
Good product without subscription
Great quality camera but the app will throw adds at you unless you buy a plan. Otherwise, very useful! We use one in our house and the other with us in hotels when we leave our room to make sure no one comes in.

We have been using the free versionof Aflred Camera app and an old android phone as the camera for our home many years now. The app is easy to use, reliable and I like that I can view on my phone or the web. To me it is worth paying the annual subscription for the enhanced features. While phone or pc webcam works just fine, I also like the idea of a dedicated camera with its own power sauce and wifi connection, so I decided to get the Alfred Camera and I am glad I did.Setup was easy, though I had a little trouble getting it to scan the QR code on my phone screen, but got it to work when I turn up the room light. Once it scanned the rest of the setup was very simple. Note that it only connects to 2.4ghz Wifi, so be sure your router supports it. The camera angle is wide enough to cover the entire living room. The low light/night mode works incredibly well for a camera at this price. I am happy with the camera and the app, and would recommend it.
Very disappointed with this camera. It was easy to setup initially. However, once I downloaded the app and connected to wifi I could not access the camera because the firmware needed to be updated. And that was the challenge. I tried 10 times to get the update to go through successfully to no avail. I rebooted the app and finally I unplugged the actual camera and plugged it back in – that did the trick. After wasting 35 minutes of my life on something that should have been very simple I was excited to test this bad boy out. Imagine my dismay when I received a notification that the version i just struggled to update to would soon no longer be supported and that I should update to yet another version …sigh.The camera itself is just OK. Be sure to switch to full HD in the app. Mine started in standard view and the image was very splotchy. There is absolutely no night vision which is another big disappointment. I have another camera in the same price point that does very well in low or no light situations. Not this camera. You can see on the last picture that you can’t see anything when there is no light. The first picture with the couch is with full light and the 2nd picture with the couch is with one light on. Overall I cannot rexommend this camera if you are looking for nighttime monitoring. I did give 3 stats because if you use it during the day or in a lighted area you can get clear images.
