Within a few uses the gate started to crinkle and jammed constantly it no longer retracts. Poor quality.
The gate was quick and easy to install especially with the adhesive backings which help aligned the gate perfectly. It took less than 10 minutes to have fully installed and blocking the dog from the area we needed it to.The rods keep the gate taught the material has kept well from the heavy rain and weather we have had once it was installed.
We gave a few other retractable gates around the house from different companies but this one hit it out of the park with the stays in between. It really holds its shape and doesnât crease like the others and retracts nicely. Worth the spend!
Love the support poles and you can tighten it up. Use this on my back deck so my little escape artist toddler son stays on the deck too. It locks and it works great. I got like an 172 inch or so opening. Yes it works that far. Little Houdini stays on the deck. Just put it as far as you can to the floor and tighten it up. I use two hands to tighten, I lift the knob then will put my hand on the mesh screen and tighten it by twisting it and the knob together at the same time to get it real tight. I like that it’s tight enough that for a width that far my son can’t just escape underneath it at the middle. He’s tried. He’s tried pushing it,pulling it climbing over it and climbing under. I may call the zoo to recommend these for all sorts of other animals. It’s a joke…but you get the idea.
The gate works as it should but isnât persistent dog proof. Took my dog a day and a half to figure out she could push herself underneath it. So heads up. Also, take your time rolling it back up. It will roll up weird and not coil back up all the way.
I love how they created panels with a skate because it needed some stability. Our a team month old is extremely active and the 120 inch gate we bought just prior to them creating the panels, he is able to pull on them and I worry that he could climb over them, or rip them because thereâs no extra stability. This gate, he cannot move at all, so we love it!The only downside that I see with this particular gate is, I do not care for the lock mechanism. We have three retractable gates in the house. All of them have different types of locks, and this is my least favorite. It is not that easy to open with one hand, like it says, luckily we do not open and close this one often
