The Magic Sleepsuit is a patented swaddle transition product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy, secure feeling. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies’ sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies. The Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping, or with any sleep positioners.

The Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, breathable jersey cotton inner layer, a soft microfleece or cotton outer layer and a layer of polyfil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age when babies are transitioning from the swaddle or smaller sleep space. Proper fit and timing of introduction are critical to the safety and effectiveness of the Magic Sleepsuit. Babies should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they roll over or try to roll over in it and are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep.

The Magic Sleepsuit provides your baby with a cozy and calming sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid in baby’s sleep patterns, and give parents peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

PROPER FIT AND TIMING

Ideally, you should wait to begin using the Magic Sleepsuit until your baby is transitioning from the swaddle and fits properly into the Magic Sleepsuit. Proper fit of the Magic Sleepsuit is critical for its safety and effectiveness. When the Magic Sleepsuit fits properly, the scooped neck will lay flat on the baby’s chest, away from the face and baby should not have the ability to pull their arms and/or legs inside the Sleepsuit. . If the Sleepsuit is too big it will not provide the cozy, secure feeling necessary for sucess.

  1. It worked!!
I’ve been blessed with a baby who always slept 8 hrs every night swaddled. Once he hit 3 months old, he started to roll on his side and would move all around the bassinet. We tried the arm out sleep sack but since he could move, his Moro reflex would wake him up constantly in the night and I went from a baby who slept 8 hrs to a baby who woke me up crying every 2 hours or less!! My baby was cranky and I was exhausted. A friend recommended the Merlin suit as a transition from the swaddle. At first I didn’t think it would work. He screamed bloody murder when we put him in it and I immediately was like Nope! That’s not going to work and took it off.I decided I would try it again for a couple naps in the day so that he would get use to it better. I also had a thought that the bassinet may feel too crammed because his arms could not lay out straight like the suit allows. We tried the suit again but this time in his crib so he had a lot of space. He was able to still self soothe in the suit and put himself to sleep no problem. He slept 9 hours straight and we all woke up happy! He was still in the same position on his back when he woke up too. It was such a relief. I do find it quite warm so I only dressed him in a diaper underneath and left his hands and feet exposed for air flow. He seemed comfortable! It was a great transition to get him use to his arms out. Really hoping it continues to work for us and eventually get him comfortable in a sleep sack.

  2. Great transitional suit!
The suit on is hilarious, given how puffy it is. BUT it’s been working for naps and bedtime the last week so I’ll take it! Our boy still has the moro relfex so sleep sacks aren’t working for us right now and he’s started almost rolling so we had to stop using his velcro swaddle (even with one arm out).I was worried about how thick/bulky the suit is with heat but he just wears a diaper under and is fine.My only con comment that I have is that it is yet another item to transition out of, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do and things change daily/weekly.

  3. Amazing
If you have a baby that hates sleep sacks, then this is for you. My son after the newborn phase would just kick and kick and kick and wake himself up in a sleep sack. Got this and the first night he slept peacefully with only one waking. Honestly a life saver for us.

  4. Really works!
This magic suit really works! I bought it for our 4.5 month old who was sleeping decent in the night but would still wake up every 3-5 hours but since starting to use the suit he sleeps 7-8 hour stretches in the night and less restless.

  5. Loved it
We got 6 weeks of use out it because I bought it a little late. LO could turn her head back and forth in it, reach her mouth as needed (but she had to want to reach it), and seemed to sleep quite well in it. I dressed her in a long-sleeved onesie and that was it. Sometimes a short-sleeved one. Socks on cold nights kept her feet warm as needed. I was sleeping in her room at the time, so I could take the socks on and off if she seemed warm. Occasionally she did, but I was not worried about SIDS because she could not roll and she generally seemed comfy in it (too hot a few times, as I said, but I had also cranked the heat…). Cons: 1) no TOG rating (it is a wearable sleeping bag, so I had to trust my judgement, which was tough, as this is my first kid. It would be easier next time.) 2) it did shrink a bit 3) the cotton tabs covering the zipper by her face were just a bit too short for the job 4) loose threads appeared in some of the seams by the end. I had expected slightly better quality. When she did roll over in the suit, I stopped using it and moved on to a different sack. But for the 6-weeks of transition from the swaddler to armless-sleep sack, this was AMAZING. I am SO glad I had it, because I did not worry about her rolling with her arms swaddled or worry about her smacking herself awake as she startled!Washing: inside-out in the machine, stretch it and hang it inside out to dry, flip it to right-way out half-way through drying and/or put into dryer to get rid of the last dampness. Or buy two.

  6. Cosy sleeper
Started using this with my 3 month old to transition from swaddle. Worked well. Took baby a couple nights to get use to the suit but she seemed to like it from the beginning. It didn’t result in longer sleep like we had hoped but it definitely helped her fall asleep easier. It’s now a great sleep association tool for us, and she seems super cozy in it. I also like that she still has full range of motion with this suit and that it just muffled her movements a bit. We tried using a sleep sack the other day instead of the Merlin suit and our daughter woke up a bunch throughout the night which she doesn’t do nearly as much with the Merlin suit.

  7. Eh
My son is on the slim side so he drowns in this suit. It fits his limbs fine but the rest of his body is engulfed in it. Worked alright for him but he also runs hot and would sweat a lot when wearing it even if he’s just wearing a short sleeve onesie or just the diaper

  8. Love it
Love this sleep suit! Only thing that I found stressful is there is no TOG rating so I would stress on how to dress my baby underneath it.

  9. Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit is a lifesaver for transitioning out of swaddles! It provides a cozy, secure feeling that helps my baby sleep longer and more comfortably. What I Love:Soft and Comfortable: The fabric is gentle on baby’s skin and keeps them warm without overheating.Easy Transition: It helps my little one adjust to sleeping without a swaddle by providing just the right amount of snugness.Great Fit: The sizing is perfect for 3-6 months, with enough room for movement while still feeling secure.Durable and Easy to Clean: It holds up well to frequent washes, which is a must with baby products.Highly recommend this for parents struggling with the swaddle-to-sleepsuit transition! It’s a game-changer for better sleep.
