Definitely waterproof the video shows me pouring even more water on it after an initial test but absorbent on the top layer. Even after letting the water sit and soak through many minutes, it still hasn’t leaked through the other side. It’s fairly soft and it washes very easily. The material became softer after washing. Not sure about how long it will last after many washes- the material is quite thin and delicate.Make sure you don’t use fabric softener! It will diminish or completely rid of its waterproof capabilities.Overall pleased! Would be great to store in a diaper bag, the size is not to big, and it’s thin enough to roll up to store in a bag.

I like those changing mats. They are observant, soft for my baby, easy to wash and they have nice pattern. I highly recommend them.

LOVE this item. I ordered one before my son was born and accidentally ordered a very large size. I was highly amused at how big it was. But it turns out it was perfect. It’s thick but not too thick, soft on both sides and holds up well in the washer and dryer. It lays perfectly on the chaise portion of my couch so I can change my son’s diapers and protect the couch cushion. When my son has surprised me with a pee during his diaper change, this pad absorbs the urine quickly and it doesn’t soak through. The bigger size would also be perfect for an older child.
