Concerned About Your Babycook Reservoir?
If you notice staining on the bottom of your Babycook’s stainless steel water reservoir that resembles discolored dots, don’t worry. This is not mold or rust. It’s a normal and harmless buildup of calcium carbonate minerals called limescale – give it a google! Limescale is a direct result of heating up water and is inevitable with all stainless steel depending on the mineral concentration in your water. Other than discoloring and affecting the aesthetics, is not cause for any concern. Calcium carbonate doesn’t dissolve easily in water which is why soap and water will not remove the deposits – you need a mixture containing vinegar. Clean the reservoir follows:
Pour 1 cup vinegar into reservoir and let it sit overnightPour out vinegar by tipping appliance over sinkRepeat as necessary until cleanOnce clean, run 2 steam cycles with plain water on water level 3 to rinse out the vinegarAlways use blending lid to prevent food from getting inside of reservoir + descale the Babycook regularly.

Finger got cut from blade while locking in place
Terrible design. I cannot lock the blade back in place after wash. My husband could lock the blade back for a couple times. It took a lot of force and one time he injured his finger with a cut and started bleeding. Machine had a burnt smell when it was only on steam mode. The finishing on the product did not feel like it is a $350 machine. Definitely would not recommend for this price and returning my machine now.

We brought our Beaba baby glass food maker before our baby was born, now he is 8 month old and our beaba after 3month of use one day just exploded during operation, glass bits cut my hand and scattered everywhere! we contacted beaba and it toook them 2 WEEKs to reply us! and we end up with no baby food maker for 2 weeks!!!! then we decide to purchase again since the representative claims that our model exploded because it was a recall. I really like glass and stainless steel options when it comes to baby food making, so here we purchased again on Amazon, checked the model number, not a recall model. but guess what, it broke again !!!!! Please do not purchase this model!!!!! stay safe and try other options.

While the simplicity of steaming the food and blending it with one product is great in principle there are other issues that make this product not worth the investment.Unfortunately the lid does not fit properly leading to spills while blending.All the different components make it easy for food to settle in-between the plastic and the glass, need to always completely dismantle parts to clean.White plastic stains.

The steam outlet and lid are all plastic which makes the food unsafe after it gets in contact with the high temperature steam.Just buy a $10 steam tray and a $20 food processor. It’s also easier to clean. Don’t waste your money on this expensive junk.

Its non-toxic glass bowl and stainless steel components are not only durable but also easy to clean. With its rapid cooking time, I can prepare nutritious meals in a fraction of the time. It’s not limited to only baby food, as well! I could easily use this as a part of dinner prep.While the initial investment may seem significant, the convenience, health benefits, and peace of mind it provides make it a worthwhile purchase.
I had the plastic version before this, which I generally did not like. This version is much better and a lot easier to clean, plus the baby’s food never comes in contact with plastic. You can make pretty large portions with this, too.. I was also using a separate steamer basket and blender, but this is more convenient in my opinion, and I have found that it steams faster than the stove. Overall, it makes baby food making easier!
I wanted to like it but I HATE it! It was suppose to be a great baby cook made out of sturdy materials , easy to use and clean. But my hopes was destroyed one by one.First issue I encountered was a corrosion of steaming basket after about a month of light use. Contacted customer service, they mailed replacement in a few weeks.Then chopping blade that was supposed to be stainless steel and rust proof got bunch of rust . I took care of this machine greatly , all hand wash, no dishwasher , air dried . Contacted customer support and they accused me of cooking something inappropriate there! HELLO, I just cook veggies and some meat there for a baby! They said they will mail the replacement blade but it took them 2 full month to mail it ! How am I suppose to cook food for my baby in a rusty machine?? Customer service is bad and donât follow up.From the design point of view this item has many flaws. To name a few:Anytime you blend food small pieces of food are being trapped in the glass bowl handle where it becomes moldy and spoiled. Yummy!! Again contacted support to show me how to clean it and itâs literally such a pain to take it apart to clean the handle and even dangerous because you have to use a knife to separate it apart.Then during cooking the water is dripping from the handle onto the counter constantly and there is always a water residue underneath the bowl.The lid is not air tight and never was. You can get burn just by standing next to it because of the hot steam coming out all over , where it not suppose to. Iâve seen same issue with other customers.And water reservoir gets horrible residue every time I cook there even though I use distilled water . So you have to descale it every few days.So much for a $270 French piece of âartâ!Pleas see pics Iâve been taking for a good 2 months to clearly show how bad it is
I really liked this product because if the ease of use and the fact that the mixer is made of glass.After only 5-8 uses, a part broke off right under the spinning blade. It was some black plastic that crumbled. Now the blade wobbles even though it still does the job. But it does make lot more noise and leaked at the bottom. I am not sure if I should just return at this point or may be the vender could just send me a new blade assembly. Not happy with the purchase as it was very expensive !!
