Baby monitor
Took me forever to find a baby monitor with two cameras. I read a million reviews about all sorts of different cameras and this giraffe one has been awesome. I would 100% recommend this one. It connect to wifi, you can use it on your phone, comes with a parent one too. Loving it!
Set up is very easy. No need mount the camera to the wall, you can clip it. its a great picture clarity , daytime camera clarity is much clearer, but night vision is clear enough that you can zoom in and out. battery is long lasting.Overall good product, serves its purpose.
I was extremely disappointed with the CHILLAX ChillaxCare Giraffe Cam Smart Baby Monitor. The advertised features seemed promising, but the actual performance fell far short of expectations. The video quality was subpar, often grainy and pixelated, making it difficult to see my baby clearly. The night vision was particularly disappointing, providing a barely visible image that did not offer any sense of reassurance. Moreover, the connectivity was highly unreliable, with frequent disconnections and signal drops, leaving me anxious and unsure about my baby’s safety. The app interface was clunky and unintuitive, making it challenging to navigate and access the various functions. The lag between real-time monitoring and the video feed was noticeable, and there were significant delays in receiving alerts, rendering the monitor almost useless in critical situations. The promised two-way audio feature was a letdown as well, as the sound quality was often distorted and muffled, making it difficult to communicate effectively with my baby. The overall build quality also seemed flimsy and cheap, raising concerns about the durability and longevity of the product. In addition to the technical issues, the customer support was unresponsive and unhelpful, failing to address my concerns adequately. Considering the high price point, the CHILLAX ChillaxCare Giraffe Cam Smart Baby Monitor was a complete waste of money, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient baby monitor. My experience with this product has been nothing but frustrating, and I regret making this purchase
UPDATE AFTER 7 MONTHS:The camera is still going strong! The app issues seem to have been resolved! Even the temperature sensor on the camera seems to be more accurate than it was for the first few months! I’d definitely recommend this camera to any new parents looking for a reliable, convenient, and easy to install video monitor!UPDATE AFTER 3 MONTHS:Customer service reached out again and, after some additional troubleshooting, offered to send a replacement unit to address the wifi issues. The new unit came with a parent monitor (which worked excellently). Unfortunately, it appeared to be a refurb, and the wifi switch was defective. After some more troubleshooting with customer service, they replaced that unit as well, and now we seem to be up and running. The app still doesn’t perform as well as the parent unit, but its certainly an improved experience. I’d recommend the Chillax monitor over many of the others I’ve researched, and appreciate their customer service team (specifically Bojan) for helping to resolve my issues.Original review:The camera itself installs pretty easily, has good video and picture (1080p was a selling point, and while it’s in night mode 90% of the time I use it, it’s still pretty great!).Where this product borders on useless, is the wifi app performance. The app is intuitive enough, and connecting is easy, but the app loses connection to video 2-3 times a day. This requires rebooting the camera to reestablish connection, which is infuriating when the entire purpose of the product for our family is to be able to quickly check the video to see if the baby is fussing between REM cycles or actually in need of something. Guess what? You’ve got to get up anyway to reset the f#%&$ camera.Troubleshooting on the website was fruitless, but customer support responded within a few days with the solution of disconnecting and reconnecting the camera. The camera itself never stops functioning, because you still get sound and movement notices (which you can’t watch), but you have to get up to check on the baby and reset the camera, and pray that it doesn’t happen again for another 8-12 hours. If this company ever figures out the app, this will be a great product.
Buy something else….This is okay when it actually stays connected, but more often than not we have connection issues. Not just with our phones either, but also the monitor itself needs to be reconnected often. I have purchased two of the giraffe cams and both have had the same issues. Everything else connected to our Wi-Fi seems to be fine so I’m not sure what the problem is. It’s not too far from a router but still says it has connection issues. Probably changing to something else entirely.
My wife and I love the Giraffe Cam. We looked at a number of camera and eventually settled on the Giraffe Pro. We liked it so much that we bought a second Giraffe for upstairs. The clip and camera neck make it super easy to position and the image quality is fantastic. We really like being able to keep it off wifi for privacy but the app is great too (we like the notifications) and we use it occasionally.
