Very cute
I have always seen this book in stores and I bought the Escargot and the Search for Spring book for my daughter (turning 3) for her Easter basket (bought way in advance). I figure we probably should read the first book first beforehand so I bought this for Christmas (for my newborn). The book is really cute and sweet. It can be a little wordy but its a simple story. It has several prompts throughout the book which I felt could use more interactive pages (see additional pictures, could use a page to prompt child to push and touch snail or a page with a mirror to practice a fierce face). The illustrations are also very cute too. We enjoyed the book so much I bought another copy for a baby shower gift.

Not a favorite for us
Purchased based on reviews. My 2yr old isnât into it at all; personal choice. Attempts to branch out from Franklin, Little Critters, Berenstein Bears etc. Werenât successful. Itâs about a snail that is trying to find a yummy salad and written to interact with the reader directly.
Perhaps I’m easily amused, but I think I enjoy this book even more than the kids do. And my kids are pretty darn obsessed so that’s saying something. This story has it all…excitement, hope, fear, love, determination. Plus, the illustrations are to die for…they add so much to the experience. All this to say if you appreciate unique, cute, and compelling characters and things…Escargot is your guy!
Libro molto carino, è piaciuto parecchio ai miei figli. Ordinato e arrivato.nei tempi previsti. L’unica pecca della mia edizione a mio.avviso è.che avrebbero potuto usare carta un pochino più resistente. Le pagine interne sono sottili e nel nostro caso si sono sgualcite praticamente subito.
Clever, witty and a nice way to challenge snail stereotypes obviously. There are a few ‘interactive’ elements which are simple and a nice touch. My three-year old son’s half-french so the smattering of french words etc allows me to put on a ridiculous french accent when telling the story. I think I love it more than him, but he enjoys it too. Like to see more from this author.
My little boy loves this book, a fun story to read together
A delightful, playful read! It encourages the child (reader) to interact. I love how it utilizes a tad of the French language too. Note: There is a ‘Escargot’ (character) plush sold separately.
