Stopped working after a couple days
Sounds stopped working almost immediately. It would work again once in a while, but essentially just a standard kids puzzle that sometimes males noise.
Sounds when you don’t want them
Works well and my son enjoys it. The problem is, for some strange reason, it makes it’s sounds when you turn off the lights. Not a good thing to have in a toddlers room when you are trying to get them to sleep.

I’ve bought 2 of these thinking the first was just a lemon. The sounds flat out do not work well. Neither work. They sometimes seem to work at random. Random cat noise in the middle of the night coming from the living room isn’t what I expected. Not much troubleshooting to do with these besides making sure batteries are new and nothing is corroded. It’s become just a puzzle but I must say it’s disappointing because my daughter loves animal noises.
I purchased this for my grandchild. She loves to play with it and it makes the animal sound when you input the puzzle piece.
So we love these puzzles but I think we clearly got a defective one. I have to keep it turned off most of the time because the noises go off for no reason. Also the wrong animal noise goes off sometimes when baby girl is playing with the puzzle. We still play with it just without sound turned on usually. I donât blame the seller, we just got a dud!
Make sure you put this away with all the pieces when you’re done with it! My husband and I kept hearing “Meoow, Meoow” after the kids went to bed. The lights weren’t being turned on & off or anything, but the darn thing kept going off every now and again! He eventually just turned it over because we couldn’t find the pieces amonst the rest of our kid’s toys, lol. Another thing is part of the board by the battery box has splitnered off, and we haven’t had it for very long. Maybe a month. Melissa & Doug would do well to move the box farther into the middle of the back so the wood wouldn’t be structurally weak on that corner. The sounds aren’t overly annoying, which is nice, but some of them definitely sound more mechanical than actual. I do wish the nobs on the pieces were more round, or had a lip to grab on to, because stepping on these kinda hurt! Other than that, it’s a cute puzzle that my son enjoys.
