Not really travel size
As the title suggests, these are smaller than the regular set but not as mini as I was hoping for traveling
My kids love these! The small size is perfect for in the car!
These are good quality magnetic building blocks that are similar to the larger sets. Compared to the name brand sets, the plastic on these does seem a bit inferior, but it should still hold up for a long time. These fit easily into a plastic bag for travel and since there aren’t many pieces, they will be good for car or plane rides. The main downside is the amount of unnecessary packaging when the item ships. The plastic is hard to cut into and open and the whole package itself is large and bulky. If you plan to use them for travel, take them out of the package first!
Our baby loves these things, so I’m glad they’re very durable! Even after repeatedly being slammed on the ground and tossed across the room, there is no sign of wear. Personally, I’d like the magnets to be a bit stronger, so one could build a larger structure before it fell apart, but I doubt the targeted audience cares in the slightest. Overall, underrated product!
I admit, I ordered the EverPlay 12pc Magnet Tiles Set for myself just as much as I ordered it for my toddler. I didn’t have magnetic tiles as a child, so I have patiently waited for my little one to get to the age that I thought he might enjoy them. I love the size of these tiles for my toddler, though I must confess I don’t have a size reference for traditional magnetic tiles. This set says it is travel size; however, unless you have a baking sheet or a metal tin with a hinged lid in which to put them and a child who won’t toss them on the floor or across the car, I’m not entirely sure how these are good for traveling — I see them just getting lost under or between the car seats.My toddler prefers to create flat designs or stacks with the magnetic tiles rather than 3D designs, but I build 3D objects for him to see, play with, and destroy. He also loves to match the tiles by shape and color. I get frustrated when building up with these tiles because they easily collapse in on themselves–I’m not sure if that’s just par for the course or if it has anything to do with their size. Of course, with this 12pc set, there’s a limitation to what you can build, so you’ll find yourself ordering more sets to have the ultimate collection.I also appreciate that they are BPA-Free and non-toxic because my toddler loves to chew on things. He chewed on a couple of these but lost interest and moved on to other things to chew. I noticed that he didn’t damage any of the tiles he chewed.
The pieces seem to be good quality, and my kids love playing with them. It’s a good small kit if you want to see whether someone is interested in this type of construction toy before investing in a larger kit. These styles of “blocks” are great for encouraging imaginative play.We also got a small set from Aldi that was a bit different from this, and they work well together.Technically, every set is travel-sized if you need to pack it in your own bag ðThe only thing I didn’t really like was the clamshell packaging, which was designed to stand upright on a shelf.
